Here's a new gameplay trailer of Operation Flashpoint: Red River, the video shows the Marines' mission in Tajikistan turning into a dangerous flashpoint. The game will be out on April 21 in Europe and four days later in North America.

The brown graphics and AI don't look too great.
But I might want to move up to this higher level of squad shooters (ArmA, Flashpoint), after loving FSW, BiA, and SWAT 4.
No thanks, i learned my lesson from the last OpF game.

Dragon Rising as promised: Open world warfare on a massive island with small, dynamic battles raging everywhere around the islands. Tons of fully interactive vehicles and huge variety of weapons. Long campaign with great tactical gameplay, and extreme realism.
Dragon Rising as delivered: Linear 4-5 hour campaign with timed missions that penalized any play style other than run-n-gun. Mission failed if you wandered a few meters outside of the "mission zone". No custom loadouts, little weapon variety, and very few vehicles segments with limited vehicles. Extreme realism that includes up to 10 torso shots to take down an enemy, and missions that are failed if you take too long or try a different approach (last time I checked, the army doesn't force soldiers in a life and death situation to "clear a town in 5 minutes and from only one direction".
So yeah, to say that DR was a disappointment is an understatement. Not having a good PC and being a huge fan of the original Op Flashpoint on PC, I was incredibly pumped. Now, the sequel looks even more cookie cutter than DR. They would have be getting reviews in the 9 range WITH a playable demo if I am to go anywhere near this thing...
Elements that are right for me to play.
A lot less than when it was originally released, that's for sure; It's too hardcore.
And then it doesn't follow through with the hardcoreness!!
That being said, I don't know what they have to bank on with the name.
Nobody knows what Operation is unless it's the board game, or a shitty sequel to a hard game, or a sequel to a shitty sequel of a hard game.
Yeah, this is going to rake in a lot of money.,.,

You are correct about the name though. I think they paid a good chunk of cash for the name, so they are milking it for all it's worth. Clearly though, the name is dead and is not bringing them in any money. With Dragon Rising, they suckered myself and many others to believe that it was a tactical sim along the lines of the original, but no one is falling for that anymore. No one else will care what the name is, and simply look at it as a poor man's COD with slightly less arcadey features and horrible graphics.
