Shenmue I & II will be released on August 21 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, and it's of course available to preorder right now. Let's just wait patiently and watch this new trailer and a few screenshots, showing what seems to be a very "authentic" remaster...

Hopefully, Drift will finally like Shenmue.
PS. It goes without saying... mandatory stream!

And I just saw that the game releases during Gamescom... what a great idea.
That's why I said it was fitting that Blim posted the news.
It's a simple port of the games and it shouldn't give any trouble to modern hardware, as long as it's well optimized. I'm expecting it will be similar to Vanquish and Bayonetta ports, where they can reach 4k@60fps with medium tier hardware - GTX 970, GTX 1060, etc.
Also, the facts that it is capped at 30fps because of the engine's physics and that Shenmue 1 & 2 are far older games than Vanquish and Bayonetta, means it should be even less taxing.
I just hope the ports are mostly issue free at launch, there's no reason they should give any issue as long as the developers do their job properly.
there are pros and cons, the only gripe is how bad the team doing the port is.
Comparing game that game out a year after the REAL Dreamcast launch to first year PS2... wow, amazing fanboism right there when everyone knows it takes an average of 2 years of development (especially back then) to make a game from scratch and Shenmue had had the advantage of ACTUALLY being an ENHANCED and EXPANDED port of the internally developed SEGA Saturn Shenmue-Project Berkerley-Virtua Fighter RPG.
Further this port will serve as a testing evaluation to see how the reception is in terms of SALES... obviously on PC it will get pirated to shit... but if the game sells very well on PSN or XboxLive, then SEGA will definetly approve making a Yakuza Kiwami type remake remaster.
Especially considering how the vast majority of "Shenmue fans" NEVER PURCHASED the game day one or even in the first month, or months period when the sales COUNTED as an actual profit for SEGA.

Also the global shadows and dreamcast textures could have met somwhere. We're in 2018 ffs...
