Xbox 360 PS3 Wii

For one reason or another we missed this new trailer of Sonic Unleashed last week, and it's a real shame because it looks rather awesome. This could very well make us forget *that* Sonic game from 2 years ago.

Ditto.

How did SEGA allow their flagship franchise to fall so far? They'd have been better off taking a chance with a 2D Sonic, than releasing any of the titles in the franchise, that they did release over the past 12 years.

Anyone ever complain about there being a lack of goodness in the GBA or NDS Sonic games?

Nope.

Those games were aces all the way, and the only place you could find a real Sonic release. It's a real shame they did not allow the devs who made the GBA/NDS Sonic games, to make the Sonic games on the consoles too.

So as always, I'll keep my fingers crossed as I have been doing for the past 12 years that SEGA will deliver some sweet Sonic goodness in a console release. But if history has taught anything, it has taught me not to hold my breath.

Is Yuji Naka involved in that SONIC?

I hope this one is better than the last "NextGen" SONICs since SA (SONIC Adventure).

Is it so hard to make a Remake of SA 1&2 with NextGen Graphics?

Well looks like they finnaly droped the crappy 3D movement, it didn't work what so ever with the speed sonic moves in, this looks to be better as it's mostly just moving forward or folowing some paths.

Thought it doesn't look remotely as fun as the old ones, no good mazes and things like that :/

In any event what this game needs = Speed meter :P not to mention I giggled as the first thing I thought about was "mario and sonic olympics" :P most probably know why.

It moves still pretty 3D at moments, I think it is more like the Dreamcast ones where walking and running. More running in one direction instead of changing the camera sudenly and full 3D, like in the Sonic that was out this gen. Jeez that one just plainly sucked. Yet I did love Sonic Adventure ;).

I'll probably end up buying it anyway even if it gets bad reviews, being the sonic fan I am... lol

EDIT: I would like to see how the "were-sonic"(?) comes into play with all this speed. And if this game will be Sonic only and no other characters which would be nice for a change...

If the game doesn't have bugs (last next-gen Sonic) and flaws (leveling in last Wii Sonic), I'll buy it. Only low budget. I haven't got any touch left with the Sonic brand.

That's exactly the same problem with the Sonic Rush/Advance games, and it's the same guys making this. They seem to have failed to notice the fact the classic Sonic games didn't rely purely on "speed". Infact, Sonic didn't move much faster than Mario, but they were good due to the platforming and level design, which the Rush games sorely lacked.

The Rush games have been the best thing released with the Sonic name in a very long time, but that isn't exactly saying much.

There are platform elements in the games and you have control of stopping and going just like the old Sonic games. I fail to see what is different from this and the classics on the Genesis. Just because the videos haven't showcased a lot of plat-forming elements yet doesn't mean anything. I suspect we'll see it come to light at E3.

I'd say Secret Rings is the best Sonic released in a long time. Sonic Rush Adventure was nice enough but it sort of cocked up a lot of the presentation feats of the first Rush, enough to make it a pretty annoying experience overall.

I wouldn't mind if they made a Secret Rings (SaTSR) like affair, tweaked the controls a bit, made the skill stuff less confusing (because it was a brilliant idea of easing you into the game and not dumping a ton of stuff in your lap from the get go, but it was sort of difficult to keep track of everything aswell) and giving Wii and PS3 versions the full Secret Ring motion control options. The way they've integrated SaTSR stuff into this game and have you jerking back and forth by pressing the bumper buttons instead is insultingly dumbed down and just unfortunate all around.

As a bigger-than-I-should-be-at-this-point Sonic fan I remain cautiously hopefull, but I never felt this pessimistic about any of the previous games. Not even the gun tooting Shadow The Hedgehog. I just can't see how Sonic Rush - albeit a fantastic handheld/in short bursts game - can sustain a full console release. They better have a crapload of stuff up their absolutely elephant sized sleeves.

I'll wait for reviews, but after Secret Rings and the fact that this looks like just a plain better Secret Rings, I'm officially excited about a Sonic game again.
