Probably because Starbreeze was a smaller company than DE to release the PC version. I think it seems crucial to play the first game (for the amazing storytelling) because it's such a story-heavy property, but also to be more invested in what's going on. But I'm sure a recap will be included.
I'm not a fan at all over the graphics, I think they should have used the same style as the first game. I guess that's what you get when you switch developers.

Well isn't the game based on the comic books' story line? If so, I'll just get some of them and start reading before playing this one.
