PC PS2 Xbox

Due to the server change, here's a some days old The Movies trailer. The five minute long video presents many of the features of the game, and is a really good tip if you want to know more about Peter Molyneux's latest game.

Yet another Sims clone...
You can't be serious? If you have read ANY of the articles about this you would realize that the only thing this has in common with the Sims is that it has people in it. This is not a life simulator, this is a movie studio management/movie making game. You do not control when people go to the bathroom and eat and crap like that. Next time do a little reading before you make a stupid uninformed comment like that.

Hmnn......is this like 3D Movie Maker from Microsoft? For example, can you select animations for the characters, stages, special FX, etc etc? Can you do the voices yourself with the Live communicator, how about the music?

Thanks!!!

I don't know a whole lot about the Xbox version, but I assume it's similar to the PC version. On the PC version you can record the voices yourself and I would imagine they did the same for the xbox. It does remind me of 3d Movie Maker a little. On the PC version at least, there's an easy way to make movies that's not all that involved and then there is a way to make them where you control every aspect, including animations, stages, etc. The music part is actually really exciting, because they got a guy who does the scores for a lot of motion pictures to do the music that you can use. Gamespot has a few good previews of it you should check out.

Thanks guys, I spent 2 years working on this game and all U can say 'it looks gay, another Sims clone' don't judge it until you've played it. Or better yet get your get a job in the industry and see how damn hard it is to make something like this.

Ok, have it your way:
Yet another Rollercoaster tycoon clone..

I am not impressed by the fact that you worked two years on this product.
Nobody forced you to and you even got a salary doing it.
Now I can't program a simple remote controll for my video so I probably will never know the sweet sorrows of progamming a console game.
Then again, I can't see you doing my job either.
But I am a gamer and your game may play very differently but it still looks like a bloody Sims clone to me.
Still, I wish you all the best with this game and who knows it may become the bestselling game of the year.

Did you not read what I wrote? This game has absolutely nothing in common with the sims. Peter Monoleux (the guy behind this game and Black and White 1 and 2) does not do sims type games for one thing. In this game the only control over the people you have is you can pick them up and place them in different buildings. Depending on what building you place them in it as a different effect, like there's a rehab building in case they get hooked on drugs or alcohol, there's a plastic surgery building for boob jobs etc. Most of this game has to do with building and managing your studio. Though, if you want you can skip the studio sim part and just go to making movies. I told you to do some readin before making assumptions lik that, but apparently you were too lazy to look something up. So I will provide the links for you. http://pc.ign.com/articles/658/658988p1.html Here is just one preview. It shouldn't be that much of a hassle to read. What I am getting at is this game is UNIQUE. It is NOT a clone of a gay game like the sims. This is the first game I have really looked forward to in a long long time, because it is something new that really hasn't been done.

No, I am far from lazy.
It is infinitely worse: I am not a bit interested in what you tell me to do.

O Dear..
There is absolutely no need for that old bean!
I am quite happy with what and who I am and believe me there are far more important things than playing games.
Like smoking a good Venezuelan cigar, getting that piece of Venetian antique glassware for your collection from an auction in Bratislava, drinking a fine glass of Château La Mondotte Saint-Emilion 1996 or finaly completing that deal with a businesspartner in Rotterdam.
Which just about sums up my last three days.

Stop trolling High5. I just think it's stupid when people make assumptions about games they know nothing about. I was trying to help you find out what the game is about, but you obviously don't listen. Also, bragging on the internet is like trying to light a fire underwater, it doesn't do any good. Quaasheezy, there are quite a few sets to choose from. I think you can customize the sets once you choose one as well. It's a very open ended game.

Last March I went to Lionhead for Work Ex, and this was one of the games I was testing.

It has got massive playability and the level of customisation is superb. Before I played this game, I didn't think much of it, there just wasnt a WOW factor there for me. But when I was playing it, I enjoyed it alot. For me building my studio lot was great, it kinda felt like I was playing theme park again, I just loved making it my own.

And this was an incomplete game with alot of things not working yet, so the end result should be alot better.
