Why is everyone trying so hard lately?

Ogre trailer made me say "hmm, ok".
Stryder made me say "whaaaa?" More different mechs with different attributes?
Sign. Me. Up.
(As if I wasn't signed up enough already)
I have a serious fear that people are gonna think of this as a FPS with mechs...oh wait.
Also just wanted to mention that the whole idea of the "mech" dropping from the sky, not leaving a crater, not taking damage, aka violating the laws of physics all on a safe to say single platform (Xbox One and PC are Direct X 11.1 basically) really bothers me...
There really should be something more..otherwise its starting to feel like early or current call of Duty games where people make ridiculous jumps from second and third floor buildings and (these are humans instead of mechs) take hardly any damage on last gen.
Not often we get games these days built around gameplay first and foremost.
Game still looks fun to play. Nice fast twitch shooter. Like to see how their campaigns worked into it.. if its a consistant battle that moves between parts of a level..or if they're just maps that take you back to a lobby in between

That said.. if you're not into the online-only thing, the campaign dressings probably aren't going to do it for ya.
My main concern: can we get mod tools? It would be fantastic if the community could create a comp mode in this game.
You know what i'd really like to see with this game an ability to attach two mechs together..force more teamwork. I'm not sure how the logistics of it would work, i'm not a game developer.. But if say two titans get a set amount of kills and have the option to find one another and attach I would imagine it could work like vehicles in BF..somebody drives and had one gun, another person has the other.. just give the mechs twice the armour..or combine "special abilities".
Frankly, with the way they make you grind for content and the popularity of that meta-game, all they'd need to do in a game like Call of Duty or Battlefield is disallow any connection between modded games and the ranking/unlock system.
They'd still draw huge crowds there. I think it all depends how they're going to deliver content. I mostly miss them because they allowed the community to continue to tweak and balance the game for competition. Which is becoming more and more of a necessity since games on the whole are built for pubbing and that sorta structured environment is largely ignored. The best DICE will do for us is offer us a LOT of custom server settings. Which is nice.. but.. it's not as cool as it used to be.
