Xbox 360 PS3

Eidos released this gameplay trailer of Tomb Raider: Underworld, revealing Lara jumping around in Thailand. The game is planned to hit the stores on November 21st, on Playstation 3, Xbox 360, PC, Playstation 2, Wii and DS.

Eidos press release:
Monday 18th August, UK/... As the latest instalment of Eidos Interactive’s leading franchise, Tomb Raider: Underworld looms large on the horizon, we are now privy to a sneak peek of the game - and its world-renowned leading lady - in full swing. The trailer demonstrates the visual prowess of the game as our female protagonist clambers her way across the ruins of beautifully realised temples in Thailand, replete with moving foliage and incredibly detailed environmental effects and lighting.

The first tag-line of this cinematic excerpt warns us: “Some ruins should never be discovered”. Ironically, it would be a crying shame if you were denied the opportunity to explore something this beautiful. You’ll see her battling an assortment of ghastly pursuers whilst running through her repertoire of acrobatic moves as she springs around sheer rock faces and bounces off the heads of enormous arachnids.

A blanket release on 21st of November will see Lara storm all formats in similarly impressive fashion: Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Wii™, PlayStation®2, Nintendo DS, and PC Games for Windows platforms.

Looks great (and fun). Lara model leaves something to be desired though, especially after getting used to the gorgeous ladies of SC4.

Wow, game looks beautiful. Zip's betrayal? Was that Natla at the end?? This game is looking to be better than the last 3 games combined with this new engine and such.
(Might want to fix that first image by the way...)

It was actually pretty obvious that Anniversary was released so they could bring back Natla. She's easily the best villian in the series, and I don't think they could expect everyone to have played a game from 12 years ago.

But the game is looking great, I'm really looking forward to this. Bets on the game featuring some form of co-op play with Amanda?

Please tell me you mean poly count and not tit size or anything piggish as that.

But wtf happened to the wet skin shader?? Why can't more games do that? o.O ugh. I was looking forward to seeing giant soaking wolfs that actually looks wet or something. New that was bull though. This game has MUCH better enviroments, but thats about it.

wow, when did they come up with the idea of having GIANT spiders. never seen that in a game before...lol

nah, in all seriousness tho, it looks good, the only thing letting it down atm is animations. the individual loops look great...the transitions however, do not. its all very "shimmy animation" STOP "climb animation" STOP "jump animation" STOP. not very fluid, but that could be fixed by release hopefully. GTA4 and uncharted have spoiled me animation wise.

I can't wait for this game. But I hate how no matter how good the graphics get they insist on keeping a somewhat "cartoonish" look to Lara and most others characters. It kind of kills the realism when the environments look so good but Lara has those giant anime eyes.

Keep uncharted's Miss texture effect of "always" plastic/wet effect away from my Lara, dude!

(btw, tell me where do you see her in water so she can be wet? You don't?... I see)

As uncharismatic as ever. Character models need more detail, but the environments look good, if a bit blocky. The way the enemies move is really bad, looks like the slide around or something. I hope they actually do something new with combat then the same old random gun shooting.

Laura looks fake, her eyes are borderline anime and her skin has no texture, like someone took a doll and tightly wrapped plastic wrap around it.

They almost have the environments down so hopefully they will work on making the characters fit in, right now the areas are leaning toward a real look with cartoony characters jumping around.

First, it's Lara not Laura. The enemies are moving that way because they are Lizards (ever saw how a lezard move ?). Combat has never been important in Tomb Raider and it never will.

Lara's character has always been a cross between anime and human and it will remain that way.
