Well done trailer! I'm hoping this turns out better than the original, which looked beautiful but was incredibly repetitive, much like the game they "borrowed" a few ideas from, Gears of War.

let me guess, gears didn't borrow anything from anyone *killswitch*, and is totally not repetitive. *rolls eyes*.
could you name one game that isn't repetitive? the things some people complain about.

Uhh...he calls Gears of War repetitive in his post. Take out the "the game they borrowed a few ideas from."

The original is awesome, Just because something has a cover system it doesn't mean it borrowed it from Gears of War. Hell if we go on Gears stole that system from a dozen other games, yada yada yada....

hiding behind cover isnt an idea or innovation for christs sake. in gears case it was just executed very very well and worked in the game very easily which is why its merited. not because its some kind of new innovative idea.

if you were in real combat, i esure you, you would get behind some fucking cover.

i can just imagine some of you guys in real combat.

"get behind some fucking cover or you will die!!!!"

-"naaa... cover is sooooooo gears of war, i wouldnt want to be a copy cat. i'll try something new and innovative like running staight into the bullets"

i saw that afterward, but couldn't be bothered to edit it:p, but my main point was that all games are repetitive in some respect.(usually their gameplay mechanics) i could describe all shooters for e.g as just "aim, shoot, move and repeat".

Uncharted 1 had am interesting story which made me play the game a few times through. It looked fantastic and made me think what kind of mojomagicvoodoo Naughty Dog used to manage the visuals.

There was of course plenty of room for improvement on the combat and puzzle ratio, but NaDo seem to have taken that into account in the new chapter judging from the interviews. Has there been any indication when this game is coming out?

Try playing on Crashing mode you won't say it's repetitive. At least for me it required completely different style of playing. Not simply duck (hide) and shoot. Use combos to spare bullets and simply kill more effectively. Attacking unaware opponent from hide etc. Really if anyone won't to experience Uncharted in full glory try playing on Crashing mode.

sorry to nitpick, but it's crushing not crashing.

Repetitive. All shooter games are. Nothing new.

They can still be good. I would have hoped to see some gameplay like the GoW III trailer.

I tried REALLY hard to like the first uncharted, it looked awesome and the characters where pretty good, but it was way too focused on shooting and action and the shooting gameplay felt stale and unsatisfying (exept the grenades they where awesome).
It had some awesome enviroments that often felt like they where wasted opportunities due to the lack of interactivity and platforming/puzzle parts.
I really hope Naughty Dog listens to the criticism from the first game, and try to bring it to the next level cause i really want this to be what i expexted the first one to be.

I felt the exact same way about the first Uncharted. The landscapes were breathtaking but besides brushing them and watching them move, they weren't involved in the gameplay much. I hope they make platforming and puzzle solving a much greater part of this franchise.

This trailer looks amazing in the graphics department. No doubt that Naughty Dog has done an excellent job harnassing the PS3's architecture and the benefits it brings. Can't wait to see more, and hopefully some new gameplay mechanics.

I tried to like Uncharted, really did...just couldn't. The lame generic jungle environments really killed the game for me. The gameplay felt solid and there was some cool scripting/narrative/characters/voice acting etc...but it just wasn't all that exciting.

This game however, judging from the scans I've seen and the trailer and the dev comments really looks to take it into the right direction, namely: Awesome, epic and varied environments...Looking HOT HOT HOT!

Naughty Dog has stated that they are using the full power of the PS3 for Uncharted 2. If this trailer was in-game, than I would have to say that it looks great, and dissappointing at the same time. Before being accused of being a fanboy: I own a PS3 and I love the console very much. I was just expecting to be amazed, but I'm not.
I refer you to the post I made in the GoW3 trailer. Exactly what I was talking about.

this was one of my fave games last year, almost GOTY (mass effect won out in the end tho) the game has a really likable character who comes across as very human. he's not a steriod using muscle bound freak, he isnt super human, he is very "average guy". the gameplay also mixed the best bits of tomb raider and gears to create a better game then both of them. it may have had simplified platforming compared to tomb raider, but as an overall experence everything worked better. no one element of the game was so average it dragged everything else down (unlike tomb raider where the camera and combat kill what could be an amazing game)

plus visually i still consider it the best looking game on consoles. killzone 2 will probably surpass it visually, but i think when uncharted 2 comes out it will take back the crown.

seriously cant wait for this game. it had a hollywood blockbuster indiana jones vibe (before it was tainted by the crystal skull) and overall it was one of the best games this generation for me. with the improvements they're making both gameplay wise and visually. im seriously excited. this and killzone 2 are gonna be THE games for me next year.

really nice, but when they say they plan to use the Cell to it's limits, I think they should have said that they plan to use the Cell to the extent of their own limits.

To say this is all the Cell has to offer is not only marketing buzz, it's arrogant and doesn't say much for the future of Sony's processor.
Basically, it's a candy coated lie.

Either way, it looks great.

ALL it has to offer? considering naughty dog have created the best looking engine out there, i'd honestly be happy if this was the peak of the ps3's visual capabilities. it trumps everything else out there currently...hell, the first game STILL trumps everything out there.
