One thing Simply BRILLIANT. the voice acting is Freaking awesome! I am so glad I dont have to grind or say Laaaaaaame while Im playing

Also notice how the ingame lip-sync is actually done to English ? NICE. that doesnt apply to CG though which is understandable

Not really. It is either from the PC or PS3 version (most likely PS3 due to the JP VA during the battle sequences), only with the buttons changed to generic buttons. L1/LT are turned into a generic LA, and the face buttons are generic A, B, and C buttons.

English dub... It sounds average in some scenes, then really bad in others. :/

hmmmm, it does seem like it. it's more noticeable on the special moves.

............the music doesn't go good with the vid now that it's in English, damn i wish they would just stick with the original composer (Uematsu).

long ago SE disclosed that there would be no Pc version of FF13, anyways, it's about that time we start seeing the 360 version turning up anyway.

I just don't have much hope for this game at this point. Maybe I'm worn out from the series or just JRPGs in general. I don't know. But I couldn't be less excited about this game coming out. Of course, if the game gets rave reviews I'm sure I'll check it out, but probably just a rental to be safe.

I bought FFXII and didn't like it nearly as much as a lot of other people seemed to.

The VA is a bit better than standard Japanese rpg fare, and good enough to not make me roll my eyes, but a far cry from "great". You would think they could afford some real actors for such a big series instead of Anime voice actors :P...

Since when does the 360 have A, B, and C buttons? Or an LA button? It is either from the PS3 or PC build with a generic UI(console games are built on the PC while being transitioned to the consoles). Furthermore the scenes come from completely different locations of the game. Porting a game in a piecemeal fashion is haphazard and weird.

Though I do wish that the 360 version was this far (had S-E got an external team to port while they worked on the PS3 version, then there may have been a worldwide launch this December; but alas, Square decided to wait until May to start on the 360 version). Then I wouldn't have to wait until spring of next year to get the game (PS3 version MUST release simultaneously alongside the 360 version in the West; those are the terms of the MS/SE deal). After all, the dub is pretty much done according to S-E. All that is left is lip synching (which is nearly done assuming they lipsynched as they dubbed) and the development of the 360 version (which was started in May).

well i think i do see two different versions....not sure, but it's true 360 doesn't have a "C" button, so we could just leave it at them being from the same version.

Yes, slightly different (it was recaptured using a different user interface (with the generic A, B, and C buttons so as to not piss of PS3/360 fanboys, MS, and Sony. However, since it is actual gameplay, getting the exact same moment from the exact same angle is hard).

Awful US-centric dubbing as usual. At least the voices are not quite as abysmal as in FF12, but they're not much better. Why do US game dubs always sound like they're from a teen soap opera? Just painful to hear.

I was hoping that Square would use the space on a blu-ray to put the original Japanese on there too, but apparently due to wanting to make the space limited 360 version the same, both lose out.

I'll still play the game of course, but with the voices muted if that's possible. (that's the only way I could suffer through Tales of Vesperia)

Moroboshi, the US VA is not that bad. It actually gets better as the trailer progresses. Now White Knight Chronicles' voice acting, on the other hand, sounds horrendous (though not Star Ocean IV bad) and I want my JP voice acting with a passion. Likewise with Tales of Vesperia PS3 potential US launch (Flynn is Setsuna F. Seiei in Japan!).

However, I feel that SE may as well include the JP voice track with the PS3 version of the game. There is no reason not to have it (MGS4 didn't have it due to the uncompressed nature of the sound. FFXIII has nothing of the sort and Star Ocean IV shows that it can indeed be done). Even if Square wanted the two versions to be equal, having a Japanese track would only affect a niche audience and wouldn't impact sales (so MS wouldn't be angry over it).
