PC Xbox 360 PS3

A few days away from the american release of Turok on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, planned for February 8 2008 (Europe), we have these new gameplay images to share with you. Please note that the PC build will be available only later in the spring of 2008. After the ugly screens from a few days ago, the quality still isn't there in my opinion, and it's a deception. Am I too greedy?

Turok can't be revived, let it go. This demo was very disappointing.

I started playing the demo and 3 minutes in my brain exploded and said he'll come back into my skull if I promised to never EVER play this game for another second.

So I promised.

True story.

The dino's looks nice, but the rest of the visuals are hardly on par...oh well wasn't expecting much from this title to tell the honest truth...

It felt like I was controlling the torture that was happening to me.

But hey to people who enjoy it: Great, have a blast.

Hmm, typical over-reactionary statement from a lot of posters on these boards.

Granted, some textures were off, but that's mainly due to the terrible Unreal 3 engine (yes, I said terrible.Shock horror, gasp and all that bollox. it's now a very dated engine and overrated) which tends to render blocky parallex mapped textures. As for colors, hey- it's a jungle so browns and greens are the norm. Shadows, once again Unreal Engine 3 is shit at self shadowing, but nothing was terrible in the demo as far as that goes.

The dino's, it has to be said, are stunning to look at. The artists and animators done a excellent job on them and could be the redeeming feature for this game. Facing off against a T-Rex would be as exciting as it first was in the original Turok, if not more so.

If someone rammed a huge dagger into your skull, I think it would kill you instantly as it does in this game too. Even COD4's knife is an instant kill.

I actually quite enjoyed the demo. Using the knife is a lot of fun, yeah it's an instant kill, but it's not that useful against the actual guys you fight, only the dinosaurs, and they're not really the main focus of the game, just something you can use as traps and whatever.

My only complaint was that the controls are a little stiff. I probably wouldn't pay full price for it but I thought it was really quite fun.

What?? Are you mental? There was nothing wrong with the demo! I quite enjoyed it. If you seriously think all these were problems you need your head checked.

Also I found nothing wrong with the controls. I'll probably be buying this.

This game is terrible. It lacks any sense of atmosphere, epicness style etc. The shooting mechanics are some of the worst I've ever encountered and the level-design must be the most generic, uninspired I've ever seen.

It's just your average FPS with a few dino's thrown into the equation. And even that is handled poorly. This game is horrible.

I enjoyed the demo too! I loved it when the raptors flanked me and it all goes blurry, sends you into panic mode! Good stuff.

what I am not getting is why do we keep getting PC images? if the PC version is so behind WHY are we not getting PS3 and 360 images which should now -let's face it- coming from a FINISHED build since well the release date is in 10 days and by now the game HAS to have gone gold

100% agree. the ONLY aspect i liked was the way you seem to have a genuine choice as to how you attack most situations...and i like that. if i wanna play stealthy i can. but then that aspect of the game goes to shit when your essentially forced to shoot the crap out of guys...and considering the shooting mechanics are plain broken...thats not a good thing.
