Video PC Xbox 360 PS3

Max Payne 3 is now available in North America so here is a first video of the retail version of the game showing different heroic stunts. More gameplay footage will come later this week, but don't expect them before Thursday at best, as we are pretty busy here for now.

Definitely gonna get this. Got good/great reviews and I've been longing to get back into the Max Payne universe, even though I do feel that Rockstar's crack at the atmosphere and narrative isn't nearly as compelling as Remedy's.

Was there ever any doubt Max Payne 3 was going to be good? Seriously? Different from previous games in the series, true. But different =/= bad, or not up to par. Ultimately considering the developer, a fantastic game was always in the offering. And I have never had a single doubt about that since they announced they were bringing back Max Payne.

Rockstar's marketing may have taken a major back seat on this one, but after GTA IV, Red Dead Redemption, and L.A. Noire . . . Rockstar is clearly on a roll, and I don't think they would have even bothered with Max Payne unless they were going to bring their A-game to the IP.

Anyway, with GTA V due in October, I am hoping their next game for release next spring will be Bully 2 (or Canis Canem Edit 2, to our European gamers). A lot of fond memories playing the Scholarship Edition of the original, can only imagine where they would take the sequel.

Anyway, back to Max Payne 2, I'm just wondering should I head out to Best Buy after work today and pick up my copy for Xbox, or should I wait a couple weeks and pick it up for PC instead? Choices, choices.

I heard the aiming is really swimmy like RDR if not using lock-on, so maybe PC is better.

Been playing this all morning. Absolutely worth every penny. Haven't been satisfied by an action game like this in years.

I played a bunch last night. It's a pretty straight forward action game, but man it's immersive. It really does come the closest to feeling like your playing a movie. The score is incredible, on par with Drive imo and the set pieces are great. Again, it's straight forward, it doesn't feel like a big game but it's all about tone and the experience. Rockstar is the best at creating an experience.

Just my opinion.
