Everything is so bullet spongey. Not a fan of that. Not a fan of her constant heavy breathing too. She's walking around a fucking room for Christ sake and she sounds like she's just ran a marathon.

Still looks nice though. It's on the radar.

She didn't go for headshots though which is rule nr 1 against zombies.

Can't wait for the actual game but these gameplay bits do it no justice. The encounters with the lickers here, just like the Birkin encounter from a few months back, looks way too awkward and clunky. Then again, they didn't want to show gameplay of s 100% skilled person taking them down with a few shots so I guess there is that.

But overall the licker enemy encounters just don't look like they work in 3rd person, just like it didn't in RE5.

I think this video explains it best with a bit of a funny editing moment at the beginning lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxjywF5W8NA

Maybe that's how they should have handled them in this game. There is clearly a "blind" system in place for them. And maybe they are 100% avoidable if you sneak by them? If that's the case I think they'll work fine. But fighting them looks messy and not a lot of fun.

They need to be weak but powerful imo or make them minibosses and just have 1 and 1 fights with them?.

The game so far needs to be a bit more consistent with its damage in general though. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to what damage even a zombie can take. Headshots should be fatal imo. Or at least a couple. I get that they want to have the feeling of a relentless horde. But this is a shitty way to go about it. I don't want to be unloading an entire clip into a zombies face just to knock him down. Not in a game where ammo is scarce.

That's what you had to do in the originals. Zombies were resource depleters. They were more an obstacle you had to negotiate either by running around them, or spending ammo. One shot head kills with a 9mm would not only make the game too easy, but it would make the more powerful weapons like the shotgun and magnum redundant. That was the whole thing about finding those guns in the original to begin with.

The most terrifying part of this game are the tanky controls

Except in the original when you got a headshot (by RNG) you popped their head and the zombie was dead, implying headshots, even with the Berretta result in instant kills. Even body shots with the baretta took down zombies in a relatively consistent amount of bullets give or take a couple. They might fall once between the fatal shots, but the amount to kill them remained similar.

This game however has no consistency at all when it comes to enemy damage and let's you unload entire clips Into zombie faces without putting them down. it's dumb as fuck. And it's an inherent issue with being third person. The skill of the player should be rewarded here. But its a joke. They've already increased the amount of zombies attacking you, which would help balance out the reduced difficulty of a headshots equalling a kill, but to have hordes...AND have them be bullet sponges just makes the entire thing kinda shit.

It needs fixing. It's hard to be impressed by what they're showing when it's fundamentals look so wrong.

...the lickers even have derpy faces too, not just the main characters. man who is handling this remake? everyone seems to have a sloppy face lift. shame, the lighting looks great and all.

Yep.

But unfortunately we still live in that stage of time where most people still want dated 3rd person fixed cameras (which could also be used in VR for some clever effect) with tank controls, on their TV with a controller in their hands. Capcom's excuses were also bullshit.
