Great DLC support!
It is one of the best FPS I've played in recent years, but reading this is sickening. It is an invitation for EA to lock out content already on the disk in every game and sell it as "DLC". Between that and the "online pass" future we're likely to see the next years I choose the latter evil.

By the rate they unlock different modes for maps we already have we won't have the full game by the end of this year. Not to mention no self respecting BF fan plays TDM or SR. For me this is useless "new" content.

Edit: Btw, why is this even declared as DLC? Of all I'd like the gaming press to at least realise that this is BY DEFINITION NOT DLC!

hear, here, Viginti_Tres!

I understand their VIP system as BC2 (hopefully) promises long-term server support at EA/DICE's expense—and I pray they never go to a subscription model—but locking out levels and modes that already exists on the disc is lame as f#¢k. (Even though for me, at this point, if I didn't have a VIP code I don't think it would have even affected me, as I never play any of the DLC map/modes except Laguna Presa rush.)

The VIP code should just unlock 80% of the maps with 20% working w/o it. Or I would rather see them roll out more game modes like the on-line co-op mode (Onslaught, right?).

I think it's okay, as long as I do not need to pay 1200 MS Points for 4 maps ... It's the call of duty.

In am happy with the VIP-system, because I do NEVER buy used games. So it's fine.

I agree w/ Viginti on this one. I love BC2, it's one of the best online MP games this gen for sure (but no BF2), but calling it DL content is just BS. They could call it DL unlocks or VIP content w/e, but it is a bit lame. Especially when you consider it's not even giving us any new maps.

I would have stuck w/ Bad Company 2 a lot longer if it wasn't for such a small amount of maps to play Rush on.

What sucks is that MW2 is making some really great new MP maps but the price is such a disgrace that I can't in good will pay for such BS. Feels like no matter what modern military shooter I'm playing these days I get the shaft lol.

Of course it's not a perfect solution. But come on ... Stop whining and welcome to reality of overpriced DLC and so on. And imo this VIP way is the least evil. I can live with that. Of course - at one time it was different. But thats the way the business changed.

bad company 2 has got the worse maps ever .
where are all the great maps like deadly pass , backstab and bridge too far ?
even the conquest mode doesnt even feel like conquest , its too linear.
does any one really care about "rush".
rush mode = there are 2 flags that you got to get or defend so defenders just camp and wait, while the offense try to get them . everyone knows where everyone is , AT THE 2 FLAGS!!!!
VERY VERY BOORING GAME .
the conquest mode = there are 3 flags in close proximity most of the time in a linear line (ala rush mode).
cod:mw2 atleast release the classic maps that made modern warfare 1 a classic e.g. crash .
another r.i.p. franshise:
splintercell= r.i.p.
battlefield = r.i.p.
final fantasy=r.i.p
whos next ???
this gen is really sucking , no quality games anymore

I have absolutely no problem paying for genuine new maps on games I'll likely play for 1-2 years. As long as the price is reasonable (15 quid for 3 maps is waaaay off).

I have more of a problem when I pay 60 quid up front for a crippled game. Then have to wait almost a year until I get what I bought. The majority of players won't be playing anymore. By that time other great MP games are released (Reach first, CoD:whatever next and then Gears 3). I don't have enough time to play the content I ALREADY BOUGH MONTHS AGO.

One of these models leaves you with a choice, the other doesn't. I hope EA chokes on its ideas.

I hate to bring sunshine to all of the rainy sadness about this game but. . .does anyone else notice the few short seconds showing a scope attached to the M14? This for me is excellent!!!

Great DLC support? LOL! The game doesn't have enough maps, so new layouts are hardly enough to keep it going. Most conquest servers are on a three-to-five map rotation. Some 24/7 Atacama Desert servers are popping up, since it's the only conquest map that has air vs. air and an abundance of armor. And that's coming from someone who could play Karkand 24/7 right now and be happy. It just goes to show you what kind of quality we're looking at in Bad Company 2.

I still think it's a fantastic game, but it's dying and it needs more than game mode tweaks to existing layouts to keep it fresh. But, with all of that said, the game is still very fun. I just returned to it recently and it's just as good as when I left it.

PC version needs a new patch asap too. Oh, and the 1911 nerf is still very discouraging. If E3 sees a real BF3 reveal, all is forgiven.

And it's squad rush and dm too... because that's what people play. :/

But.. it's just an illusion dude. The content from the first packs was on the retail disc. This isn't free content. This is the illusion of free content. Don't be fooled.

I really doubt Battlefield 3 will be revealed at this E3...EA's lineup is just PACKED with shooters...

Crysis 2
Medal of Honor
That crappy looking Epic game
FPS's from Insomniac and Respawn Entertainment

I think they will reveal BF3 next year

I love it when you have supposed "BF veterens" complain about EA BSing you by not have all the modes for all maps, when the godfather of all: BF1942 didn't even have modes like coop for all of its maps either.

There's also what, 18 maps for 1942? Even BF2 only had conquest (well several variations of conquest), but it had so much more content than this game. That's especially true when you consider how much better BF2 maps are than BC2 maps. 12 Battlefield 2 maps are worth about twice as many Bad Company 2 maps. Many BC2 maps have like two pieces of armor on a tight linear map. It's a good game, but it pales in comparison to where the franchise game from. The destruction is utterly brilliant, and the infantry combat is pretty solid, it's just a bummer that everything else is so stripped down.

And people are complaining for one reason and one reason only: Because this content isn't even new, and EA is trying to spin this like they're giving us tons and tons of "free support." A squad DM layout for Nelson Bay isn't new content... and it's probably already on the disc anyway.

Anyone else having as terrible of a time with lag playing this game?

Ever since the PC version of this game got patched the 360 version is riddled with lag issues, it sucks. I heard a lot of people aren't even playing it anymore because of those issues. EA released some other games taking up their bandwidth priority?
