GSY Video PS4

Although we're still working hard to stabilize our new installation and reach the best possible level of quality, we can finally share with you some "4K" content on PS4. We'll start with Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, no less, but more will come in the upcoming days, among which Deus Ex: mankind Divided, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, Skyrim EE, Watch_Dogs 2, Ratchet & Clank, Hitman, etc. Let us know what you think of the image quality of the 2 following videos, whether you stream them or download them, as they are far from what we hope to achieve when we find the proper set-up. Aside from that, we are truly happy to provide all this new content free of charge, for your eyes only.

Without HDR the impact is not that huge. You really need an OLED or a FALD LCD to see a good HDR and a way to record the HDR. This is the tricky part, whatever you do until people don't watch the vids on a good HDR TV till then it's "pointless" to share HDR game clips

Loved this game, and such a looker with IQ that was already stellar....But weirdly only pushing 1400p natively on pro and not even checkerboarded to boost to 4k....Just regular old upscaling. Pretty disapointing for one of sony's big first party developers.

Honestly I'd rather they spend their time on Last of Us 2.

I thought TLOU and UC teams were for the most part two different teams?

Yeah im disappointed too especially because the framerate is not perfect even on 1440p but i sm still waiting someone to confirm if the shadows are improved. Hopefully the story dlc will get better support since they are designing it with ps4 pro in mind.

That was the case for U3 and TLOU but the last 2-3 years almost the entire company was working on Uncharted 4 so i think they are back at being 1 team.

I just read the whole description and yes the image quality in the stream is decent but not amazing for me. I'm excited to see the proper set up.

I think that has just been a misconception. I don't think ND have ever been 2 completely seperate dedicated teams. In the case of U3 and TLOU it was simply a case of staggered development, floating team members and 2 dedicated script writers (hennig handling U3 and druckmann handling TLOU) so while U3 was in development surplus staff moved onto pre-production work for TLOU. I don't think it was like the call of duty series where multiple full dev houses are working on different games in unison.

GOrgeous game but I hated the AA implementation or I think it was the AA that made the game look so blurry. It was very noticeable when you'd return from screenshot mode to gameplay. I can only hope that the super sampling solves this issue on my 1080p screen.

I enjoyed playing this game at the time, but I also found it completely forgettable.

I don't really agree but mostly because i am a fan since the first one and the fact that it was the closure to the franchise made it memorable for me. Don't get me wrong though, i still didn't like some things in it and i wish there were a few more memorable setpieces like the car chase. Im excited for the story dlc but after that i think i don't want another ucharted game. Give me Tlou 2 or a new IP.

You probably know this already but CB rendering is quite difficult to implement in a game, and that is why this first wave of Pro enhanced games did conventional upscaling rather than CB according to DF.

I would much rather ND use conventional rendering for the moment than waste resources and time on old titles like alimokrane said.

Future games like Horizon zero and new titles from ND moving forward will use CB rendering I'm sure and I'm looking forward to seeing 16-bit half floats being used to help with the post processing effects, and I hope these techniques get translated to PC games..

This game looks absolutely superb. Even with this effort I can clearly see it looks cleaner than the already clean base version.

Stream or file download ?

Try another browser if you watch it on the stream, Chrome is not as efficient as Edge with high quality videos.

If you downloaded it, try another player.

Surface pro 3 can't play them with VLC, windows media player, or the windows 10 video app. Which is fine, I understand its pretty limited hardware at this point and we are transitioning into a 4K generation so I won't cry and hold back progress. :P

My Surface Pro 2 can play it smoothly in the Windows 10 "Movies & TV" app, not a single frame drop, but it has a 1920x1080 screen, the SP3 has a 2160x1440 so maybe the Intel chip is not strong enougth to play videos on such screen.
