A: Under Siege is an RTT (Real Time Tactics) game. It focus only in battles without gathering resources or base building.
but please no more tower defense lol
uhm.. how did you conclude that from these pics ?
There are absolutely no hints at TD style of gameplay in them, on the contrary we see units fight other units.
count on it.
It's like an RTS for consoles, but you control a group of people, as far as I get it, rather than create an army, which is what PC RTS's are suited for.
And there's some sort of customisability about the game that they are teasing. Whether it be character creation/mapeditor, who knows.

I agree to your first comment now... that premature (and false) conclusion of yours really was a product of a weird asumption.
There have been quite a few TD custom maps in which people were turrets (immobile, auto-attacking / targetting), but have ever seen sth. like that in a comercially released independend game ? No? Because that's counter-intuitive.. if you see people you naturally asume they can move, so your asumption they "replaced turrets with people" is unusual (influenced by playing tons of TD custom maps, I asume) - it's sth. I wouldn't have come up with even after staring at the pic for hours, although I'm a TD veteran (aswell?).
Another thing why I found it silly to explicitely call this a "tower defense" game is, that you can see the enemy creatures stop to attack/kill your own (pic3). Usually "defense" games/maps in which that occurs as an integral gameplay element are referred to as "base defense" games/maps. (it's like someone saying "that looks like an RTS games" when confronted with a video of Civilization)
If your frustration actually is about "games in which you only defend your base" then plz say so in a unambigous way and even that point is questionable as you (only) have mobile units, so it's easy to hypothise you will be able to attack aswell in this game and (imo) unnatural to asume you won't be able to.
