PC Xbox 360 PS3

Activision releases a featurette of Spider-Man : Web of Shadows. I didn't really pay attention to what was said in the video, but the gameplay looked way better than what we had to endure last year. Way to go !

Wow! most people probably wouldn't expect much from a spider-man game... but this looks totally cool to me.

I just wish they had made the combat more seamless and a lot less choppy between moves. Better transitions please!

Step in the right direction for sure though and nice new camera angles

Combat looks very interesting, certainly wasn't at all excited about this game after the recent stream of bad Spider-man games, but this looks like it could be good.

Disappointed with the storyline though, do something besides Venom now, please, he was never a good villain.

The recent Spiderman games were Movie-games. This one won't be as rushed, hopefully the devs use the time they have.

Not impressed. The city still looks dull, generic and lifeless. It's so important to get that right and so many games fail horribly at that.

I know it's not an easy task when you can move freely through the entire city from top to bottom, but this is just not any better than the previous installments in that regard. The art and level design's just seriously lacking.

The game is still in development. Judging by the video they are mostly concerned with gettn the combat down. Give it more time and they will add the people to the city and etc.

That's not it's main problem. It's the generic level design. Look at the city in GTA IV. All the details from the fences to the roads to the geographical depth etc etc.

Different developer.

And why are there red beams on the foes?
It looks like a lock on system. I'm pretty sure as fast and as high flying spiderman was moving in that video that a steady camera wouldn't be possible without some type of lock on.

It's a cool video I must admit. But spiderman moves so quickly, that I don't understand how you control him. It seems like a button masher to me. And why are there red beams on the foes?
I'm guessing it's your lock-on indicator. I think this game looks pretty damn cool. The fact that it's not based on a movie and won't be rushed is keeping me optimistic that it will turn out great.

Extremely excited about this. My main problem with all Spider-Man games is that the combat has been horrible and the only way in which they were used was a throw or a to tie someone up. I hope it can used defensively in boss fights.

sweet, looks great

looks like they managed to fluidly chain attacks in a smooth way.. and it is all about using your web to its best advantage.

And the best part is integrating what happens in real life while attacking, when you do a flying kick to the character in mid air, they fly off and then they would drop down below, and this will effect spidey as well, due to gravity but he continues the chain attack over and over..just fluid!

looks great, i'm just having a hard time imagining how they created this battle system from the start, i mean you can visualise battle systems from god of war , or some action/adventure game...but this seems to fuse aspects of what will happen around you, such as gravity the environment, plus merging a chain of attacks seamlessly.

Only section i didn't like was with the black suit and spidey was fighting on a building sideways, did this purple like power move attack? wth? that didn't seem to fit in..the arial combat rocks, and it is true what they say, spidey wouldn't walk up and punch and kick someone, he is all about agility, speed and flexibility, that is what he will use when fighting, take the enemies to his fight, rather than fight like the enemy.

loving how spiderman who i never would've thought would make for an awesome video game, has become one of the best characters when making a superhero game, i just always assumed superman would be best choice ..but spidey rocks! loved the spiderman games on ps1 and the ones that were released coinciding the movies..looking forward to this one

one thing thats a little worrying, is that they seem to have taken a step back in terms of the web swinging. there are a few instances in that footage where he's swinging and yet he's clearly above any possible buildings to shoot his web, he's effectively swinging off thin air. what i loved about the swinging mechanic of 2/3 is that its very realistic in the sense that there has to be a building to be able to attach your web. but i guess if that has to be sacraficed for a combat system that is more then just erratic button bashing, the so be it.

They're going back to the more comic book sense where he just shoots a web in the air and he's swinging. It also explains why the combat looks so crazy and fun, it has that comic book flair.

maybe true but we know that too human has so many different armors which they said they can not animate with the character and this game only has red suit and black suit.

back to topic: i think that when they show this game with a full city and their own story it would be good.
