DjMizuhara (who else?) sent us this video from the demo of GTi Club+, the PSN version of the good old arcade game GTI Club.

I really enjoyed the arcade game of this all those years ago but I think racing may have moved on a little far from the simple arcade style. Still, its only a small downloadable game and the graphics are updated, good for a few goes around the track...

The gameplay didn't age that well... i tought it would play less arcady, and not so fast.

Please bring Sega Rally 1/2 HD online.

This is a really fun, old school arcade racer. It's just too bad that the demo claims that you can buy the full game now on PSN, but the reality is that only the demo is up there, and there's no way (XBLA style) to upgrade the demo to the full thing.

Sony just haven't 'got' online fully yet.

This game isn't published by Sony it's a Konami game and we all know how Konami handled MSG4. I think you should have written, Konami just haven't 'got' online fully yet.

He was talking about the whole demo/full game system of XBLA, not about this demo especially. Every XBLA game comes as a demo that can be upgraded to a full game, on PSN it's just two different masters, if there is a demo in the first place of course.

Oh ok...I get it, but there are a few games that offer that type of service on PSN, Rocketmen, Battle Cars and maybe Commandos 3 and 1942. But yeah this is something that Sony needs to sort out and make it a standard feature.

Many? I haven't seen many. With XBLA *every* XBLA game has an upgrade option, and it's there because Microsoft mandate it. If Sony had done the same, every PSN game would have it too, but they didn't so we have the current mess.

Hi. Before I continue I'd just like to say I have been frequenting this fine site for a couple of years now.

Secondly, this port is just plain wrong. I remember playing GTI Club back when it first came out and absolutely loved it. Many a time me and a group of friends would pile into the Arcade and drop money into it. Hell, we even had a tournament in Disney Land Paris once, to see who was the best. And I even beat the guy who plunged 200 Francs into the machine so he could play the fastest car in the game.

This however, is a horrible port. It doesn't feel as tight as the arcade game was and the main thing that annoys me about it is the large decline. The cars don't fly through the air the way they did in the arcade game. They stick to the tarmac regardless of speed and it totally kills it for me. The arcade game might not have been realistic, but it sure as hell was exciting as four cars went careering through the air trying to get that pole position.

This might just be the most disappointing arcade port I've seen in a long time.

Although obviously it isn't mandatory, the option is still there in most PSN games (fact and, unlike the citizenx implied, it's especially the PSN exclusives that have it), but it's just a small convenience thing anyway and no "killer option", so why do you try to blow this matter out of proportion by calling the situation a "mess"?

@ DrMcMoist )

I wonder how you could overlook the jump before the mountain begins (maybe because DJ always drives it in first person)...

At that decline you spoke off DJ just didn't have enough momentum, because there is a narrow turn before that, but I can testify, that it's possible to jump there, although it doesn't make sense, for you are faster if you try to avoid jumping in that passage.

Don't be so quick to jump to conclusions please...

In the PSN games I've downloaded I can remember a heck of a lot of deleting the demo then re-downloading the whole game, if there is even a demo at all, which there often isn't. And I wasn't blowing it out of proportion, this is just a good example of Sony's failure to do online properly and mandate what should be mandated. If, for example, GTI Club had had an 'upgrade' option, I would have the full game now, but instead I just have the demo.

It isn't that hard to do online right, all you need do is copy Microsoft, then remove the subscription charge.
