First 10 minutes PS3

Dead Nation comes from the Dev team most famous for Super Stardust:HD which was released on the PSN in June 2007. So, here is the complete first level (16 minutes of zombie killing mayhem) for your viewing pleasure. 3 New videos have been added.

Dead Nation takes place in a fictional world afflicted by a zombie apocalypse. The player can take the role as a male or female character (in this video I've chosen the Male character) and shoot just various weapons such as Rifle, SMG, Shotgun and a Flamethrower all these weapons are upgrade-able in the weapons shop as the player processes the the level. There are many different types of zombies that have special abilities and attributes. The Player is rewarded by multipliers and money when zombies are killed, the money is used to purchase and upgrade weapons. There's also a metagame in Dead Nation where the player is actually fighting for the country that their PSN account is logged in too, the more zombies you kill the higher up the leader board your country will go. Multi-player can be played locally(couch co-op) or online.

i didnt find this to be an issue myself. and i;ve almost completed it. i have never died in what i consider to be a "cheap" way. and i play with my TV darker then most (i like my blacks to be black, not a shade of grey)

that's not to say the game isnt dark. i just dont find it overly dark like some reviews have mentioned. unlike most aracde twin stick shooters, dead nation is trying to build a scary, intense atmosphere, where every shadow could hide a potential threat, and it achieved that 10 fold. it's intense, scary, strategic and fun.

another complaint i read was that the camera was set too far away from the action. but if it was closer i dont think it would work, this isnt a "1 vs a few" shooter like alien breed, this is "1 vs 100's". if you where too close to the action you wouldnt be able to see the oncoming hordes nor would you be able to react quickly enough to avoid them...and when i say hordes i mean hordes. they are relentless in later stages, with screechers that call in more zombies.

it's the best PSN game i've played since shatter. completely different games, but it's equally, if not more fun.

lol...crappy complaint as far as I'm concerned, it takes place at night time. I haven't had any problems with not being able to see any enemies, you can always see something moving. I'm having a blast with this game I can't wait to dig into the online co-op mode.

ffs psn is useless. You'd think developers of these arcade games would make their voices heard...amount of possible sales they're missing out on. No wonder xbox live arcades so much stronger.

great games are great games. whether they have a demo or not. i'm yet to play a demo of a game on either system and go from "indeference" to "must buy". i know if i'm going to like a game, and i know if i'm going to buy it. a demo has very little baring on that imo. sure it sucks, but it has never had any impact on me, both on XBL and PSN. i just dont need demo for stuff i know i'm going to like.

One has to know somethings great before they can reconise greatness. Regardless of you personally never being turned on to something via its demo (although i'm sure theres been a fair number of titles you've lost interest in after the demo right?) it makes FAR better business sense to have one.

actually no, demo's typically only confirm my feelings, be them negative or possitive. a demo of dead nation wouldnt sway my opinion in the slightest, i would think it was awesome, which i though anyway. similarly, a game like, say, bayonetta, which i didnt like the look of to begin with, i didnt like it's demo, and subsequently, the game itself. i generally know what i like and dont like. rarly do i get surprised when playing a demo. at least not to a point of going from "meh" to "OMG i need to buy it"

If only the rest of us were so lucky KORNdog. I'm sure developers would appreciate the increased exposure.

I was planning on picking this up, but I'll wait till they add voice support to co-op...and I get someone to play this with....and a mic that doesn't destroy my ear.

I think there's always a place for demos. I don't think there is any legitimate reason not to provide one. You might not necessarily be influenced because you follow games online and educate yourself before hand, but for the rest of the public, it makes perfect business sense. Regardless, In the end it's still hard to judge a game entirely by reading articles and watching videos.

Beyond the demo, is this game receiving any real marketing dollars? It'd be a sin if this game doesn't get a strong push. Best game I've played in a long time.

Basically. I'm still amazed they haven't issued automatic free trials for all their games like XBLA does.

Game looks nice, though. Never heard of it before now.

Think I will DL this later...after only the trailer and IGN's whiny review (not sure why I trust those clowns at all any more) I was not quite sold but this vid makes it look like a great old school style game...really atmospheric.

It is a great game, no doubt! The mix between the different zombies, the weapons and the bosses makes it to a real great zombie-survival-shooter. Very good level design, nice gore effects, awesome light/shadow/fog effects! For me it is one of the psn games for now. Definately a must have!

Love Tool! and this game is freakin amazing IMO. Any negative press from what I gathered so far, is due to the game being incredibly difficult at times. It's easy to tell from the reviews who struggled through the game. If you like a challenge this game is where it's at and I haven't even tried it on the hardest difficulty yet.
