PC Xbox 360 PS2 Xbox Gamecube

I had missed a few games at X05, so while at a games show in France this week I made sure to get some footage from these. This video of NBA Live 2006 should look nice, but there are quite a few issues with the sound: the voices are saturated, and it's not perfectly in sync with the image. Sorry about that.

I said it before but I really think the presentation is stunning, just the herky-jerky gameplay lets it down.

you crack me up dude.

Both games look great, but I have to give the polished edge to 2k6 right now.
That dripping sweat in Live is neat though.
I'd probably enjoy playing either one of them.

Presentation and graphics are great. Not to sure about the camera angle, and it hurt me to watch that guy play it.

from what most people are saying about gameplay differences and such, it sounds like Live may be best for a quick romp with your buddies on the couch, whereas 2k6 would be more suited for long term enjoyment.

OMG, did I just say "quick romp with your buddies on the couch"!!?
Uh, carry on.

this game looks pretty stunning. unfortunately the players still have their "dead eyes"... they look like zombies, i hope they can fix this 'cause everything else is looking so fine.

I think Live looks more visually stunning than 2K but we'll have to see which is more enjoyable. I have to give Live an edge on the sweat levels and lighting.

LOL I hardly ever laugh at any other person playing, but damn - that pregame sequence was priceless. I love how the player ended up standing like 0.5 meter from the (forgot-the-word, "goal") and stood there happely and proud scoring points 0.5 meters from it. ;)
I love how he missed the dunks too! :D

I haven't played NBA-games for like five years, but they sure must have gotten harder.

(And if it's blim who's playing: please don't fire me)

If the videos for NBA 2k6 were replaced with these videos you guys would still hate on live. EA=no love. I think live looks better, but arcade BB is not for me. i will wait for the reviews. According to EA live 360 is different from current gen live.

I agree. But i have to admit that i stay clear from EA titles (eg james bonds, and need for speeds, etc.) But EA sports is a different matter. Fifa, NHL, Live and Madden are brilliantly playable and are the best games when you have three mates sitting next to u.
NBA 2k is a bit more serious, and is for the lone gamer that wants to journey through whole seasons and franchises.
If nba live 06 had the dunk contest that made 05 such a hit, it would destroy 2K.

it still features that damn dead eyes issue...thats something thats more acceptable on a current gen game....and the clothing seems not moving at all...unlike in nba2k6...

omg how is live more visually stunning??? 2k has moving jerseys realtime lighting better skin shading...wet sweat drenched jerseys...and the sweat in 2k actually pools up and doesnt just make unrealistic beads pouring like blood from the head. If you think live is more visually stunning your on crack its that simple

Visually stunning means more than nice charactors. Live has better stadiums, baskets, crowds and a really good atmosphere. Everything is a lot more smooth as well. 2K is jaggy and has crap animation.
Live is Visually stunning.
