Deep Silver released a video of Risen, showing a couple of locations in this PC & Xbox 360 RPG. The game is developed by Piranha Bytes, who did the Gothic games.
thought that looked rather pretty tbf, nothing outstanding on the technical front, but hey not a punishment to the eye. On a side note id love gamersyde to change the thumbnail of the thing picking its nose lol, im not a fan off seeing people/creatures do that sorry!
But anyway defo keeping my eye on this, looks like it could be decent need gameplay though.

Having played Gothic 2, this makes me really interested. Hope they nail the gameplay. Video looks like 360 footage too (based on the LOD and aliasing).

Awful use of hdr/bloom.
It's not great, but my idea of awful bloom is Unreal Engine 3 before Gears 2, or something like the new Wolverine game, THAT is awful bloom.

i think he was getting at the fact it's the 360 version out of the 2 versions announced..those being PC and 360. and of those 2, 360 has the most aliasing and LOD issues, something reletively unseen on PC if your rig is good enough.

Yep exactly, if they were demoing the PC version I'm sure they'd crank up the AA and LOD as far as it'd go just to show how good the game could look.
No PS3 version, so I wasn't even talking about that.

Divinity 2:Ego Draconis.Very interesting game with the ibility to morph into a dragon and Diablo loot system to name a few.
I also like Risen....free roaming RPG's are my favorite.

People (as always) never see the 360 version on pc/360 games... that footage is PC footage.
Looks decent enough. New wRPGs are always welcome, and 360 is has a wealth of them this generation.
Would like to see a little something more substantial on this before I start getting excited for it. However, considering these guys did make the Gothic series, odds are Risen should turn out pretty good.
Looks alright but i wonder how it will look while actually playing...anyone making a open world RPG instantly wakes my suspicion, unless it's Bethesda. You know what to expect form them.

..or if the game is developed for the 360 first, and then quickly ported to the PC without any care and love, which happens ALOT. Which results in a PC version where you cant even enable AA or change your keybindings, and in extreme cases not even change the resolution.
