PC Xbox 360 PS3

Offset Software released this small test video of Project Offset. It shows some goblins running around, while the developer comments. As you'll see by yourself, it looks great.

Nice to see what the 360 can do, but this game will never come out.

Looks great, shame it takes so long to release so little. When I see this kind of thing in a larger environment and in gameplay situations I will allow myself to get hyped.

Finally some new stuff from Project Offset. Looks great but I believe this game is still in it's early stages and as of yet hasn't been said that it will be released on the 360.

Yes but the devs said this game can run just fine on G7 level hardware which the 360 GPU is above in many ways.

Killzone graphics are possible. All we've seen playable is the early 360 games that haven't even skimmed the surface of what the 360 can do. This may come out, but has only got a team of 3 people working on it. I like the concept of it and if it does come out, the developers said it will come to PC, PS3 and 360.

This project is INSANE people. It NEEDS to be noted that this project was created by ONE pc developer (one coder) and two artists--it is absolutly stunning what they have been able to acomplish with such a small team of people..making a name for themselves, that's for sure..we're talking about the sort of thing that makes you in to a superstar as a coder.

As for the "this game will never come out" comment..I'm not so sure. It will take a long time for them to complete this--I'm not sure if they've found a publisher yet but they obviously need funding and people to make this happen..

As a demo of their skills however, damn.

They've hired a few more people since then

So far so good.

Edit: I've been wanting a Fantasy FPS since the days of Heretic and Hexen.

If it does come out, it is going to be very buggy. They need at least 100 people working on something this epic.

Its still in early development, they will eventually add more people to the team as development ramps up. I believe they are also looking for a publisher, though I would think at least a few would be interested in the graphics engine alone.

Great work, I'm surprised they are still looking for one.

Anyone notice the gremlin running on the heads of other gremlins, don't think it was intential.

Well I'm not suprised..still though, what they were able to create with their tiny team is mighty impressive if you ask me..surely it's getting them noticed. Hopefully it gets them noticed by people willing to invest in their project. If I were a publisher, or a needlessly rich individual, I'd certainly do it :)

Too bad I'm not :(

heh.

Killzone's graphics are possible, however the animation is not. Not only that but Geurilla is a shitty, shitty developer. No matter how good the game looks, it'll still suck as hard as their other two games.

Yeah, that is the benefit of a CGI movie. It will play nothing like that IMO. The people that made the pre rendered vid are the same that made the cinematics in killzone1. Don't know why we always end up talking about killzone. Killzone one is shitty attempt at a halo beater, and the vid for killzone 2 is prerendered. Bungie need to release a vid for Halo3 so we can compare next gen games to something else (and in real time).

Killzone's graphics are not impossible at all, I agree with munkie, it's the animation that is the most difficult to believe.

I think this demo is a good example of some talented individuals using a next-gen system to push the envelope.

Well, this game still has a long way to come........like at 3 years more to come. I would guess they don't have complete levels. I don't know why they still don't have a publisher, but the sooner they are acquired, the better for us.

hundreds of enemies with variations in appearance and size? Q and Phantagram should take note and add a little variation in N3 rather than making the clone wars.

It will be both, the Offset name is the name for the engine, but they are developing a game that is currently untitled. They have plans to eventually offer licenses for thier engine as a more cost effective alternative to EU3 which cost anywhere between $500,000 to almost $1 million depending on the plan/engine version. Believe it or not, that is still cheaper than what most would spend developing thier own engine of the same caliber.
