Also released on December 17th in Japan was Ridge Racer. Namco decided that 3 tracks and 5 cars were enough for it's release with the rest of the tracks and cars becoming available via DLC.
Still, I love Ridge Racer so enjoy.
Update: 2 Videos added.

This game is ridiculous. Shame on Scamco.
Well anyway...
I won't be buying the PS Vita but hopefully half of this DLC will be free and Polished to perfection when released.
Well anyway...
Well anyway...
Then reports came in like what romeolives was saying, that it could barely run 30fps adequately, and would drop frames constantly. A not perfect game gets even worse.
Then I heard about all the tracks/vehicles being recycled assets from RR6 and RR7, and it had me wondering why buy this when I already had RR7 for my PS3.
Finally heard about there only being 5 cars and 3 tracks, and I am thinking, what is this, the PSV pack-in?
Scamco has done some shitty releases in the Ridge Racer series over the years, but I have to admit, this is quite possible the worst. Scamco has really allowed this once great series, which I loved so much at one point, that I even bought the original in an arcade cabinet (used, of course. I'm not rich or anything), to what it is today, a game that I would not even 'buy' if they gave it away for free. And the best Scamco can think to make the series seem fresh again, is throw out everything that ever made RR fun and exciting, and create a Burnout inspired reboot in the form of the sad and pathetic looking RR:Unbounded.
In reality, perhaps the only thing Scamco needs to bring Ridge Racer back to it's former glory, is the same old school "inspiration" that got them to make Ridge Racer in the first place . . . SEGA making a brand new arcade Daytona.
Well anyway...
In Europe... in Touring Car, Formula 1 and pretty much almost ALL types of racing they always have some barely 18 to 25 year old hot chick (READ NOT FAT) prancing around in a bikini or wearing skimpy outfits during the racing events and presenting or just hanging around the winners at the end of the race ceremony.
Naturally Japan copied this element and if you watch Japanese racing events during presentations there are chances you will see the same.
Ridge Racer (the original Arcade game and later the PSX version) features a girl presenting the start of the race, although its a 2d sprite and the girl has become a mascot of sorts of Ridge Racer ever since Reiko.
I'm sure if you watch NASCAR racing events you will see the same thing, of course you have to actually watch the WHOLE racing event of better yet BE THERE because most of the time they will not show the girls specially if they are in bikinis on TV.
Also if you had any clue about cars, there are idiots out there that constantly sell magazines with custom cars, be them American Muscle cars, road bikes, speed bikes, import cars, exotic cars, etc almost ALWAYS with some hot chick wearing either a skimpy outfit, daisy dukes shorts aka hot pants or bikinis sometimes they wear thongs and they basically usually put the girl in front of the car or lying on top or leaning on the car like as if she had anything to do with the racing or engineering or history of the car...
Basically those women have nothing to do with the cars but its better to have them there than some Fabio looking dude saying "I can't believe its not butter!"
Nice wall of text son.
wait did i read that wrong? or is the title going to be like £5 at launch?
Nice wall of text son.
I really have to wonder what some people's exposure to racing is really like, videogames for the most part and specially including sims will not find it usefull to render some girl that really has nothing to do with the sport other than just be there as eye candy...
The again I do wonder... I can make a referrence to how hot women have nothing to do with Videogame Expos... but somehow I am willing to bet you never heard of the term "booth-babe"
If you want to let a game off for something merely because its on a handheld that's fine, while your at it carry on enjoying those shit little games on the ipod..
and on a side note, my lad has a ridge racer demo on his psp it has 2 tracks and 2 cars.
