Video Xbox 360 PS3

Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon will only be available next year on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 but D3Publisher reveals today some informations and three gameplay videos of the game.

Press release :

The bugs are back in Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon, the most concentrated insect invasion the world has yet to encounter. Mankind faces the end of human civilization at the hands (or claws) of thousands of gigantic bugs unless the elite Earth Defense Force can stop them! Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon is a completely new video game developed by Vicious Cycle that expands the Earth Defense Force 2017 universe (Japanese Title “Earth Defense Force 3” developed by SANDLOT) and continues to follow the rich history of fun and addictive gameplay that makes the franchise a cult classic. Insect Armageddon is set in New Detroit and features a Campaign mode that lets up to three players team up online to battle the insects and aliens or grab a friend for local co-op action across the completely destructible city. The nonstop action gameplay in Insect Armageddon is the fastest and deadliest in the series. To arm the soldiers, players can purchase weapons or nab weapon pick-ups dropped by special enemies and can earn armor upgrades with each level gained. In addition, the game also features a six-player Survival mode that pits a human squad against a nonstop onslaught of the largest enemies the aliens have to offer. New Detroit’s giant bug problem is unavoidable, and mankind’s last hope lies with the Earth Defense Force to defend the world from the insect swarm, even if it means blowing up the entire city as part of the extermination process.

KEY FEATURES:
Epic Battles Against Hordes of Insect and Giant Alien Robot Invaders – Players will face-off against non-stop swarms of attackers ranging from giant ants and spiders to robots standing more than 100 meters tall for the most outrageously destructive battles ever seen before.

Online and Local Co-op Campaign Mode – Players can jump into Campaign mode via online co-op or grab a friend and work together to battle through the alien and insect swarms for world supremacy!

Over 300 Weapons and Four Upgradeable Armor Types – Battle alongside an EDF squad through New Detroit armed with four upgradeable armor types and over 300 unique weapons including assault rifles, rocket launchers, energy weapons, sniper rifles and grenade launchers to repel the bug infestation from all enemy fronts.

Completely Destructible Environments – Do whatever it takes to defend the earth. Use mortars and grenades to tear down entire city blocks from skyscrapers down to hot dog stands as you try to keep the insect invasion from infesting New Detroit.

Six-Player Online Survival Mode Multiplayer Battle – Be victorious in an all-out fight to the finish in Survival Mode where up to six players are deployed to clash against an endless swarm of enemies that gets tougher with each wave.

i LOVE this series...well, i did untill now.

seriously, what have they done. it's like they're trying to take the rediculously OTT premis of the game seriously?

i appreciate the improved animations, they look much better then the weird running animation frrom the past games. i like the return of the jetpack. but man, disolving enemies....really?! WEAK.

part of what makes the games so fun in the past is that once killed the enemies turn into lightweight styrofoam models that fly half a mile in the air with even the slightest touch. it was hilarious seeing 20 ants flying 100 ft in the air after a well placed rocket. now, they fizzle out in a wimper. there also doesnt seem to be anywhere near as many enemies attacking you? where's the craziness? it just seems so...tame.

i'll give it a go despite my initial feelings, but man am i dissapointed seeing these.

Yes, the gameplay seems improved but on the other hand I don't like some of the changes they did.
I hope it will be as good as EDF 2017, it was really fun.

yeah, i still think it looks like it'll be pretty fun in split-screen co-op (i'm so glad that feature has returned and it hasnt gone online only) but it doesnt seem as chaotic or as crazy as 2017, still, even with it's changes and it's budget release, it still looks more fun then most third person shooters

While I do like the 1950's schlock inspiration this seems like a downloadable or budget title in terms of quality, could be good for a laugh but the combat looks a little unsatisfying.

Modern "gamers" refusing to buy games because they look like budget titles, or even *are* budget titles, is exactly the reason why mainstream games are soulless copycats who can't afford to take risks. Enjoy being part of the problem.

You say that like this game is some massively original piece of awesome. Other than the theme being a fun screw around, this game looks massively derivative. That doesn't bother me, but thats a pretty silly comment to make. It's a silly game that no one, even the fans, would call AAA. It does look like fun, but how long does it stay fun?

i played 2017 about 3 times through, once in co-op, twice on my own. despite it's simplicity, it's massivly replayable and massively fun. it#s not AAA by any stretch, but it's by far my fave 360 game
