Watching that after an hour "Gamespot lets play" vid with the dev commenting has really sold me, that and it's only 20 quid on shopto for pc. I just can't resist loot games I'm a complete sucker for them =( plus the combat at eurogamer felt pretty solid.
Yeah, I tried it at Eurogamer as well, and it seemed decent. Already had it preordered on Onlive though (US$35 for it together with Space Marine felt pretty cheap).
It's been harshly panned by critics from what I've heard, as a lot of people who have actually bought the game say that it's unpolished but incredibly fun. Gotta say, I'm disappointed about it being unpolished as Snowblind worked on this for almost 3 years (including the development of a brand new engine).
Even though I'm a major LoTR geek, I won't be picking this up until it's on the cheap - which will probably happen sooner rather than later to be fair. Given Snowblind's expertise and how it looked to be shaping up prior to release, I was expecting this to get around the 80 mark in terms of review scores. So I'm very disappointed that it's currently sitting around the 65-70 mark (really thought this would be one of the best LoTR titles to date), but I love me some fantasy action - especially if it's Tolkien - so will pick this up some day.
Probs would have picked it up on release anyway, if it wasn't for Skyrim.
