Video PC PS4 Xbox One

Yesterday a new Watch_Dogs 2 video was released on Youtube with the usual horrible compression making every car sequence a complete visual mess. Thankfully, Ubisoft sent us the 3 GB file that we're happy to share with you guys. We are sorry that we couldn't get the English commentary, but as far as we know, that's the only version of the video we can get at the moment. Enjoy!
Update: English version added.

I really hope eventually developers support you more. Ubisoft has been one of the good ones in that regard and crazier things happened so I hope the switch occurs from views to quality. Or maybe YT improves compression or maybe buys your player or something.

Everything on YouTube is so crap looking and especially the comparison channels on YouTube really make me laugh, like we are supposed to spot something with that quality.

Thanks for posting
Classic Ubisoft - release Gameplay demo that does not even keep up with a lousy 30fps (03:15 for example, really obvious)

Thanks for posting this video.

As for only having commentary in French, even if Ubisoft doesn't send you guys a version with English commentary, there's a very easy fix that anyone can do.

All it is required is to download this video from Gamersyde and the Youtube version, then use MKVToolNix - or any other simple-to-use video editing tool - and merge Gamersyde's high quality video with Youtube's version English commentary, and then save.

Basically: Add both files > Untick Gamersyde's file audio checkbox and Youtube's file video checkbox > Start the process. That's it!

Even explaining this little is less easy than actually doing it, it's extremely easy and it only takes a few seconds to process due to the video's short duration.

It's not ideal, but it's a work around that I have done in the past and always works as long as the time duration is the same - or even if it's very close like 1-2 seconds off, though one could synchronize the audio with the video, but that's a whole other story.

And before anyone asks why Gamersyde doesn't do this, I don't believe they are allowed to edit videos in such a way. But this is not really a problem since anyone can do it because it's very easy to do and it only takes a few seconds. Plus there's not that many videos on Gamersyde that aren't in English.

I have made my peace with videos only available on Youtube, it's not great to those that prefer them in high quality, but it's not the end of the world and we must be even less than 0,00000000...1% of the percentage of people who care enough about watching videos in high quality.

At least we should be thankful to Gamersyde for making very high quality videos of games when they come out, in case anyone is wondering about the visual quality and performance of a game.

PS. It's been sometime since Gamersyde has made a Retro news article about an older game and I was wondering if we can expect more of those soon, as I enjoyed them. Would be nice to bring some attention to great games of the past that weren't really popular. Since they're very cheaper now, maybe more people would be willing to give them a chance.

Time is of the essence, couldn't do it. ;)

Apparently it was sent to us, but there was an embargo on the English one at least I've been told.

No problem. Thanks a lot for the English version. Now I will just re-download the video for a 3rd time. lol

But don't worry, I have no bandwidth cap and ain't using my full speed anyways. Plus it doesn't hurt to have 1 SSD and 3 HDDs totalling over 6 TBs.

Btw, out of curiosity, can you guys do what I said? Which is to get a Youtube video and merge its audio with the high quality video of an asset that the publisher has sent you, but not in English, and post it on Gamersyde.

Not saying that you guys should do it, I'm just asking out of curiosity because I've always wondered and I'm not sure if it's okay, but frowned upon. Or not okay at all. Or just with some publishers, but not others.

We've done it before, but like I said, if there is an embargo on a video, not sure doing that will bring us anything else than trouble.

Yes, I misunderstood that part.

Though it's nice to know you guys can do it. =)

The only thing I really don't like is that you can hack with your phone everything, even really old cars which don't even have tech/software to hack or an elevator etc

Just imagine there has been a law passed where everything had to be plugged into the central system for better global and centralised governance. Including bringing in old cars to chip them up / updating elevators etc.

It doesn't challenge
It can be said about every other game that caters to the "broader audience". Challenge is bad, non-stop enterntainment (over the top cutscenes, explosions, action) and instant gratification in the form of rising numbers and popups with pleasant sound is good.

I agree that the hacking in the first game was extremely shallow, and this sequel doesn't seems to have added any real depth to it. But you also need to take into account that having to do some things over and over that take more than a few seconds turns off many people from a game.

It ends up becoming an annoyance after a few hours. So in that sense, I understand why it needs to be at the press of a button. Of course this in no way excuse having really complex hacking puzzles that require logic to solve in the main missions or some side quests.

They could try introducing an easy way to teach the most basic of hacking in the game, and having people think for themselves of solutions to hack a server, for example. Nothing too complex, just some basic commands that act by themselves, or have different effects when combined with other commands.

BUT... even that little bit of complexity might turn off a lot of customers, and Ubisoft doesn't want that at all. Just like "MinorDespera" said, Grand Theft Auto V is a game that checks all those boxes and is still selling so much it's on the top 3 or top 10 - depending on the month - of best selling games every month for 3 years now.

It's nice to have a more challenging experience, but we shouldn't think a game isn't fun or worth just because it's not challenging. Rise of the Tomb Raider at the Suvival difficulty (highest) and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End at the Brutal difficulty (highest) aren't really challenging, same for Assassin's Creed games, but they're still fun and definitely worth to play.

However, if you want a more challenging game, you can always play the original Battletoads, Mega Man, Ghosts'n Goblins, Ninja Gaiden, Demon's/Dark Souls, Super Meat Boy, Spelunky, VVVVV, and many more difficult games.

If you're looking for a little of MR. Robot hacking action, you might want to check "Quadrilateral Cowboy", it's a nice puzzle game with more complex hacking, though not to the extreme.

Quadrilateral Cowboy on Steam:

There's also Steam's Hacking games section:
http://store.steampowered.com/tag/en/Hacking/?snr=...

I'm fine with Watch Dogs 2 being what it is, which is a Grand Theft Auto style game with light hacking elements. I also understand why Ubisoft didn't make it more complex, which isn't a real problem for me.
