Last Tuesday we were invited to discover the almost final version of Forza Motorsport 6 at the Champs Elysées in Paris. With the presence of Dan Greenawalt, we could try the game for ourselves for just over two hours. The golden opportunity to get a first opinion on one of the biggest exclusive games for Xbox One in 2015, even if the event itself didn't go as well as it could have. Before going onto the quick explanation and videos, we wanted to thank all of the Microsoft team which really went out of their way to make it possible for us to bring you all of these videos.
On the contrary to what was pointed to us by email, it was possible to capture some direct feed gameplay on the condition of taking your own material. It was however totally forbidden to get some off-screen footage. Of course, considering the instructions received beforehand, we did not bring with us the laptop and video capture equipment. Therefore we came on site equipped with one of our cameras and our trusty Ninja. Never short of good ideas, we then opted for the back up plan: in fact the Ninja is very capable of recording direct feed footage in 720p and 1080i. Alas, we couldn't do more than 720p/60fps as the Xbox One doesn't offer 1080i within it's screening options.
To cap it all off, while we had decided against devoting more than one hour in career mode to show you a bigger variety of circuits/cars/conditions in free mode, we were only told we couldn't show anything outside of career at the very end of the preview event. We have some excellent videos showing Nurburgring and Spa in the rain but we can't show them to you guys. If things could have been clearer to begin with, we could have certainly brought back more extracts from career mode (the first two hours to be precise). That being said with the availability of the demo today and the review code we should get pretty soon, not being able to bring you back more footage from the preview build doesn't seem that bad now.
At the end of the day, what you should remember is that even though we were obliged to play Forza 6 in 720p, the driving conditions were excellent so much so we had great difficulty letting go of the gamepad. Surprisingly considering the resolution in which we played with, we found the game very impressive visually. What's more, the animation is not left behind with an imperturbable frame rate of 60 images per second. However to know more about our first impressions and to ask us all of your questions that spring to mind, we have thought it would be more enjoyable to do it around a live session this evening from 10pm. Everyone is welcome to join us, the more the merrier!

I assume they're still using the controller triggers to good effect?
The car in front doesn't even seem like part of the picture because of that inconsistent lighting:

Same with smoke from the tires, for example: http://images.gamersyde.com/image_forza_motorsport...
I'm a massive Xbox and Forza fan but that doesn't look good at all....

Just like any other option, if you don't like it, just don't use it.
