GSY Review
PS5
Xbox Series X
PC
With no less than six games to cover this week, all of them on my own, I'll let you imagine my schedule over the last few days, even more so as we're not just talking about short gaming experiences here. With RoadCraft arriving on consoles and PC tomorrow, it's the game that's going to open this busy week of HQ video coverage. This time though, our impressions will be a bit more condensed than lately, but the silver lining is that you'll have all the more time to take a look at our videos.
Verdict
More affordable in some ways, but much richer and more varied too, RoadCraft won us over just as much as its predecessors, but perhaps for slightly different reasons. Visually impressive in Quality mode on Pro, the game is packed with content and is a lot of fun to play, alone or with up to three friends (who do not even have to play on the same console as you - crossplay will come later for PC). Thinking back to the latest trailer, which cleverly evoked the nostalgia of childhood, we realize that RoadCraft is almost a purely regressive and inexplicable pleasure that comes with reliving our role-playing sessions of yesteryear, when we imagined ourselves at the controls of those huge machines while playing with simple toys. It is this desire for nostalgia that undoubtedly provided the fertile ground for our growing infatuation with RoadCraft, and a non-guilty pleasure that we hope you'll enjoy just as much if you too decide to give in to the call of dolly.
