PS3

Sony released this 14 minutes long video of a visit at Level 5's gorgeous offices, and also showing quite a bit of their game White Knight Chronicles. Lots of talk in Japanese of course, but you can seek to arounf 5 minutes to see the game in action.

Yes I'm back and I'm half way through the video and I must spare my first exultation especially with the single player, it is that the graphics look phenomenal, special mention to the dusk time setting but just generally the visuals just jump out look at detail and textures of the horse type thing, the characters have this soft yet rich look just breath-taking, it has once again rekindle the excitement I have for this game, here's hoping I wont be dissapointed and knowing level 5 I expect not to.

Clearly the most feature-filled jRpg of this generation yet(until FF13 maybe). Visuals might need an overhaul but the way huge non-loading environments, creature classes, online co-op and real-time gameplay are packed in one, there is just no other jRpg like that yet. Going to be hell loose on christmas night :)

It is particularly amazing how much this game looks gorgeous in motion rather than in screens.

check to the end...there is a big difference between online and offline graphics...honestly, offline stuff looks excellent and very clean...only thing was it looked to be running pretty damn slow there, hopefully that was the encoding of the original footage or something..

Yes, I have noticed and am very excited about how the offline stuff looks. That's 100+ hours of gameplay we are talking about in shadow of colossus like huge environments and giant bosses.

Whereas online might get a visual downgrade from offline but features-wise it surpasses even the already huge offline. When Online, the game offers PS-Home like central hub from where 4 players co-op can replay the entire campaign mode and in multiplayer, 4 players can go hunting in groups an enormous variety of monsters just like the excellent Monster Hunter series :)
Thats a lot, to say when you are talking about a jRpg. This is a definite epitome of jRpg stuff this generation.

Doesn't look that inspiring but the online co-op might be good. What I'd really like to see is more games like Valkyria Chronicles, with unique art styles and gameplay twists. (TPS meets SRPG? Win.) This looks like "more of the same"

I think its looks very average to be honest, graphics ain't that great and the combat looks to be horribly clunky and slow.

I hope there is a demo of this because so far it isn't looking all that appealing.

I have to admit they’ve got themselves a nice studio there.

About the game:
Real combat still looks clumsy, nothing like the first trailer at all. The graphics are okay but nothing breathtaking.
I guess it depends on story and character development whether this game will be to good or not.

You can't downgrade some of the worst visuals this generation any further, both the SP and MP modes look like PS2 in HD, and that is beeing generous, because games like FF10 give those horrible graphics a royal slap in the face

You have to be kidding, i have seen better looking PS2 games TBH, everything looks last gen, especially the crap trees, grass, ground and lighting

The multiplayer looks like a MMO from 4-5 years back too

The fact that MP looks like crap, does not make the SP any less garbage looking at all

Single player pics

you were forced out of GT for it, and now you're here with the same 360 vs ps3 BS. if you don't like the game or the console it's on, then don't comment or even look at the videos, it's that simple.
BTW, this game looks really promising and i look forward to seeing some new footage on it.

Well, then people should not come here post in public that the game looks amazing

It insults my intelligence

But if someone can post that this crap looks amazing, why should i not post what i think it looks like ?

It has all the stuff needed for it to be a great jRpg. Tell me of any one jRpg this generation that has an open ended non-loading world like WKC, or has true real time battle gameplay, or that has huge online components. You just can't find one.
There are better looking JRpgs this gen but all have very old school gameplay, very little, confined environments and lots of loading scenerios. Plus they all lack online too. With what is proposed here, the visuals are great.

Fable-2 looks really really horrible at places too, anyone can collect a butt-load of absolutely ugly looking pictures from Fable-2 also(from grass to exact same looking houses to trees to ugly wall textures), and I have been very skeptic of it in the past. But to know how many features it offered is nothing short of staggering.

Same goes for GTA4, the ugliest looking next-gen single player adventure game, but knowing the amount of stuff offered in it, you get the picture.

You talk about some intelligence :) I appreciate that you have evolved half way towards mankind there ;)

Sorry, but Fable 2 is leaps and bounds better visually, there is not even the slightest of comparisson to be made there

One of the worst things about the last gen visuals, is that the environments are mediocre and generic too, so they can't support it with some great art either

In general WKC suffers from last gen visuals and terrible art/world design and a generic MMO feeling

Add the horrible combat system, which is one of the worst i have seen, and you get the picture

Fable 2 not only uses a next gen engine, especially in lighting and detail you can have around, but the world feels stunning everywhere, each new area is filled with stuff and things to see, and never feels like a generic emptyness

In short, WKC is nothing like Fable 2, it has more in common with generic MMOs running on a 4-5 years old PC, than any SP RPG this generation, JRPG or WRPG

For reference Infinite Undisocvery looks vastly better in both visuals and combat than WKC, and IU not even miles close to how amazing Fable 2 graphics and combat are

BTW Infini9te Undiscovery has both big leves and true real time combat, and both done far better than in WKC, as for Fable 2, its world looks phenomenal, thebest Fable 2 places are leaps and bounds better than the best i haves een of WKC

PS3 was supposed to top any 360 RPG, yet Fable 2 looks leaps and bounds better than WKC, that is my point

HaHaHa, just checking to get if you're on the fanboy list or not, Fable2 being leaps and bounds better, heh:) even on a much easier system to program for and taking well over a year more than WKC it ended up something like this:
http://images.gamersyde.com/gallery/public/9381/79...

Leaps and bounds? Heh, we really are getting messages from an ovary;) check out the trees, plantation or character models, come on infant, don't cry. And Fable2's combat is equally erratic, some like it, some hate it. Fable2's co-op is universally acclaimed an extra(floppy).

But you didn't answer my question, I asked you to name a single jRpg this generation that has an open ended non-loading world like WKC, or has true real time battle gameplay, or that has huge online components(both co-op and mp). You are coming back with rantings on the secluded and handicapped IU? no good man, you are loosing it, you're here just to bash this game and with no solid arguments ;). The storm will hit you the most on christmas night :)

You mean they have been showing the worst places, so they make sure the game gets as little sales as possible ?

Infinite Undiscovery is huge in world, and has a far more exiting real time combat system

So, there is your JRPG this generation, it only lacks online, which i could not care less about

I wouldrather have a smaller world in WKC, that does not look generic and empty, but detailed and interesting instead

Also if they can't get the real time combat right, they should stick with turn based
