Considering how average both SBK and V8 Superstars were, my expectations are low. Shame the WRC didn't land in more competent hands. Still hoping another rally game from the developers behind Ruchard Burns will arrive someday.

I have not played their other games like SBK or V8 but I will probably get WRC 2010 :D Hope they make a decent game. Although GT5 will also have WRC championship. I guess this is 2010 official WRC game.

excellent. Couldnt take to Dirt 2 because it was too americanised... with drivers wanting to give one another high fives, and group hugs, as they raced along.

I'm hoping this will be more pure. Hopefully taking advantage of weather and track conditions.

But yeah, V8 Superstars isn't great...

Yeah, those damn Americans ;). Seriously though, I hate that whole "cool guy" x-games shit too. I think the games would have more credibility if they stayed true to form. That being said, I don't follow rally(even though I do enjoy watching from time to time), so I don't know if it's an accurate portrayal of how it is developing style-wise. I DO know that I want another RallySport Challange( favorite racer ever)...

well... Gran Turimo 5 has the WRC license, so.. well, if they manage to make it as awesome as Richard Burns Rally then I'll buy it, but actually I think there is little hope for that

WRC is not turning into X-games. WRC drivers sometimes go over to participate in X-games events, but Codemaster's switched direction with Dirt because it sold too poorly in the US. I think it's a huge shame, because I can stand the physics engine in Dirt enough to play it. But there's very little rallying left in the series and I hate the style of Dirt 2. Codemaster's should break the series into X-Games and WRC imo, satisfy everyone.

The older Rally games were kinda stale, too. I'd be interested if they could capture the atmosphere of a real event. I don't want everything X-gamed( I don't think Americanized is really an accurate statement). I find it far more interesting to see accurate, cultural portrayal. I may be in the minority though, I'm not sure...

i'll no doubt check it out since i like my rally games. it's a shame evolution studio's arnt still at the helm, since i loved the past games, but i guess this will suffice.

at least it isnt all "extreme" and americanised like DiRT.

best thing about Dirt 2 was the splashing obscuring your view as you raced. I really want to see more stuff like that in a Rally game this gen

Seriously, anyone expecting the WRC in GT5 to be something remarkable is being completely unrealistic, or does not have an idea of what a proper rally game should be like.

I have high hopes for this game, but I'd be very dumb to expect the game to meet the expectations. I just wish we had a decent--true--rally game this generation. DICE would be THE developer to go to for a game like this, but oh well.

you mean like colin mcrae did throughout the whole of the previous generation?

Dirt one took a step back as far as all that was concerned, hence why some people thought it was a new visual feature in DiRT2. seriousloy tho, the old mcrae games had rain, and a variety of track types. DiRT doesnt have either. it has splashed windscreens and dust/gravel. you dont realise how much i hate what codemasters did to the series tbh.

this is the best we've got atm tho, no-one else seems to be interested in creating a pure rally title. so whether this new WRC is any good or not, it isnt like we have any other choice, other then what is in GT5. at least WRC will have the propper tracks and licences tho. something even mcrae didnt have.

I'd kill for another Rally game on the level of either the old McRae games or even something like Rallisport challenge 2 (one of the best arcade racers I've ever played).

It's a shame rally genre doesn't get more attention.

sadly it's becasue it doesnt sell well in the US. and seeing as the US is a huge market, developers opt against it. it's a shame, but it's the way it is. codemasters found a workaround, but sadly it was a shit one (DiRT)

Seriously, PD have shown nothing of the rally part of GT5, and they've only shown a few tracks from the full game.

If the latest build is anything to go by, the rally part will be special.

You won't need another racer.

Indeed, Rallisport Challenge 2 is pretty much the best rally game I've played. The old Colin Mcrae series was just too clinical for my liking; RS2 was just so much more fun! Let's wait and see how they do on this. You never know...

Is there a reason to buy Uncharted2 if Mass Effect2 inludes 3rd person cover and shoot combat?
Posted by plmko
But Uncharted 2's mechanics are much smoother and more polished, it's far more geared towards the combat mechanics than Mass Effect 2 ,thus it allows for a higher overal quality. So yes, there is a reason to buy Uncharted2.
Oh, ok thanks for cleering that up for me.

What.The.Hell?

Please say this is a mistake (I never thought I'd see the day when Un-fucking-Charted 2 get's brought up in a RALLY thread???!!!!)

I'm sorry, I've actually been put off even thinking about entertaining this game, purely by how many times it gets shoved into an argument).

Yes if you like to drive with Kimi Raikkonen, Hirvonen or Loeb this is the game to get. GT5 I think will do great job but it may not have 2010 championship mode ? This is the official game.

PS: SBK and V8 superstars haven't got great ratings but I hope this will be their best game.
