This game looked so dissapointing. So infinity ward have finally caught up with current gen visual standards. While dice are looking to the future and blowing minds with BF4. I can't believe they where raving about how they where using some sort of cutting edge engine...lol

Hairy arms. All this time, I've been hankering for hairy arms as I shoot at an enemy. Now my wish has been fulfilled!

Isn't it just about IW being able to run its CoD games in 1080p at 60FPS?

I can't remember off the top of my head, but up to now, CoD as I recall has been running at sub-HD resolutions, but upscaled?

It doesnt look that good at all.

But if they can maintain constant 60fps at 1080p, cool...but graphics are shit for next gen title.

And their praise on hair on arm? if they thing thats great what do they think of the nanosuit arms in Crysis 3 (pure awesome design and detail!).

So 3 new gameson Xbox One and you have been able to slam them all.

Still working for Sony?

DICE will be 30fps like before and CoD still at 60fps. Double the rate, double the impact on the hardware.

Defending COD

COD is multiplatform, so i'm not sure what bearing it has on system preference, forza looks a lot better in screenshots then the footage, and what little was shown of remedy's title looked cool. If that's what you call a "slam" then yeah, i guess i have.

Oh, and it having a higher framerate doesnt change the fact it looks like crap.

This is really kind worse than what I expected. I mean it is a "first-gen", next-gen game & it's cross-gen two. A lot of games, especially third party ones, aren't going to be "mind blowing" out of the gate. But this looks pretty basic & bland on top of that.

The best thing I hope comes from this new COD, is to standardize "sliding" & "corner peaking" in FPS games... basically the stuff Far Cry 3 did.

I don't think they helped matters by showing the models in close up, then showing the models in game where the loss of detail was noticeable. I think its all we could expect really given its coming to current gen too and has to play by those restrictions. Game will still play well - cod always does. But cant say i'm too excited or blown away by it

I didn't get that at all from the footage I saw. Also, it'll still probably play like a COD game, which means some of the least visceral combat I've experienced in an FPS.

Looks like Infinity Ward lost all their talented artists. The graphical assets ( Models, textures etc... ) are the things that make it look pretty bad imo. Would this have been done by Treyarch, I think the visuals would have looked a tad better. Anyway, this will sell for millions again. Hell it could look like a 1998 era game and it would still sell millions because it's CoD. Sad...

Dear derptastic fuckhead: Do you really not understand the MASSIVE difference between a game that runs at 60 frames per second at barely more than SD resolutions, and a game that runs at 25 frames per second and the same pitiful resolution? No, this game doesn't look as good in still images as Battlefield 4. Because it's not supposed to look better, it's supposed to run, and therefore feel, literally twice as well on the same hardware and at the same resolution. Do you seriously not understand, after this much time, why Call of Duty looks worse than other games? Do you think video game engines are made of magical fucking pixie dust? I'd rather have a game that feels smooth and most importantly: responsive than have something that looks pretty.
Of course, I have a PC so I can get both well beyond anything any console can or will be able to in the forseeable future, so that's pretty nice. Still.
Seriously, it looks fine. If you expected it to look like that Dragons Dogma bit form the PS4 event, you're a fucking stupid naive little child. Seriously, something running at twice (at least! most console games these days don't even hit 30, certainly not consistently, it's usually closer to 25!) the speed and you expect it to blow you away in screenshots compared to Battlefield 4, which all you've seen has been the PC version? Really? Are you 4 years old, or did you just never bother to develop the ability to think?

What actually pissed me off was the fact that they said it was the ultimate in modern FPS, and they were talking about their old busted 13 year old heavily modded Quake 3 engine here. That's just fucking insulting to any knowledgeable gamer's intelligence right there, then they start banging on about dirty finger nails, shitty dog models, hairy forearms, and a couple of logs that roll about dynamically like it was cutting edge? Do fuck off, IW. The only thing they mentioned worth talking about was Sub Surface Scattering, and even then I think they were blowing smoke up people's arses with that one too. IW pulling a Konami, but it'll still sell by the shitload more than BF4.

Oh dear. Of course you do understand that BF4 will be pushing 60fps and it's embarrassing the gulf in the fidelity of visuals between the two, and that's even discounting the fact the sheer scale and amount going on within the engine.

First impression when I first seen BF3 was that it blew my balls off. I knew that what I was looking at was a leap in generation. Amazing that it even looks close on consoles. First impression looking at the new COD footage earlier was: "current gen?" Not really the fresh impression I was hoping for when you consider the grunt these systems have to play with. I can only speculate just how good BF4 will look on PS4 on Xbox1.

COD is garbage. It will run at 800p and look OK. Nothing different than what happens now days. It will have the same shooting gallery, wave after wave gameplay as it always has.

If it runs at 1080p and has some gameplay changes I'll consider checking it out. It isn't out of the question that they could one day revert back to creating great games. I think the original talent is gone though, just like they moved from the MOHAA team to IW in the early days.
Oh what I'd give to see a MOHAA remake by capable hands (and keep the killstreak and leveling bullshit OUT). A truly good MP game doesn't need any of that crap to carry it into the next decade. There is a reason why people like myself still play MOHAA and older games like it.

Probably not... despite the fact that IW (and their other dev teams) has made a ton of money with call of duty series there is a chance that reaching full 1080p 60fps is most likely not going to happen for their launch games...

I say that because DICE was being rumored to target full 720p 60FPS for their Battlefield 4 game powered by Frostbite 3 3d engine and Battlefield is actually more of a technically graphics pushing game with physics, etc we will know for sure when official detailed announcements are finally made but then you never know... maybe that Call of Duty next gen (as it leads me to believe by looking at these screenshots) is simply just the same game, nothing really new (in terms of pushing tech so 12 player online, no vehicles... plastic windows that never shatter...) just 1080p 60fps.

And still somehow dominate sales numbers for next gen consoles...mostly because some people fear a learning curve making an advancement forward... I know redundant yes.
