While Japanese players will be lucky enough to play Yakuza 4 in March, the rest of the world can at least - finally - get Yakuza 3. The game will be released on March 9 in North America and March 12 in Europe. Here are a few images to get you in the mood.

If they only released the last 4 screens you'd think the main character "likes" children and men.

Is this a Japanese family vacation sim game? Doesn't look overly exciting from the screens. Sure it includes preparing a meal for people, sitting on the beach with children, and watching children stand outside of buildings, but that just isn't enough to sell me on a game anymore.

plastic oily hair? no.

And the game switches to lame graphics in gameplay, so...

Best stylised anime hair? probably FFXIII.
Best hair that anyone meet into going down the street? probably Dead to rights: Redemption.

Best hair award has to go to Uncharted 2. Everything from Drake's straight, short, forward combed hairdo, Sully's silvery suave thing he's got going on, through to Elena's long hair hanging back over her ears, all looks absolutely excellent. Badguy's anger prolly stems from not getting to have any superb Uncharted 2 hair at all!

The main character runs a child orphanage and no the game absolutely no "sim" elements other than coversation with the children.

Although the story isn't as good as the 2nd game, this game by far destroys GTA. Glad you guys can now enjoy it.

Anyways, this is awesome, I hope they bring us Yakuza 4, and 5 and 6 to the US. Considering the piss poor advertising SEGA is doing once again, I wouldn't be surprised for a LOOOOONG wait.

They aren't quite the same type of game and comparisons really shouldn't be made between Ryu ga Gotoku and GTA.

Yeah, he has some SERIOUS hair envy :D I give mad props to these guys, I keep trying to duplicate what they do, but I'm not quite there yet( I prefer to model hair videogame style because hair simulators take soooooo long to render)...

Nice to see english version :D White knight chronicles english version will be better than Japanese version. So hopefully Yazuka3 will also be little improved version.

...did you even play Yakuza 1 and 2? It's nothing like GTA, except maybe the mini-map :P

Yakuza is pretty much combat and story centric if you ask me while GTA is more like...dick-around-centric and where Yakuza has you upgrading your combat skills in a brawler like action oriented combat, GTA has a lot of cars and a machine gun that you can't aim to save your life. GTA is a big ass sandbox game and Yakuza is a brawler with a few RPG elements and a wee bit of exploration.

Shenmue is an adventure/life simulator with QTEs and contextual, narration triggered combat that LOOKS nice enough but is extremely unsophisticated.

Yakuza wraps jRPG conventions in a modern day presentation, with hardcore brawler combat instead of traditional, turn based encounters.

Comparisons are, and always were, bizarre. Then again, people seem keen on comparing God of War to Bayonetta too, so I suppose bizarreness doesn't stop anyone.

I think it's more about picking what game does what you admire than them actually holding up to comparison.

At a glance they share some stuff and so does God of War and Bayonetta, though they both take the same concepts in different directions. Also people just don't care enough to see the huge difference between games like God of War and Bayonetta, they jsut go "It's an action game, cool!" adn hen that's good enough for them. That's why bayonetta has the Automatic Mode :P
