I am SO stoked for this. Yakuza 3 was the crappiest in the series so far (still really good though) but this looks to make up for it form what i've seen :)

Let's see if this time the game doesn't suffer any cuts.

I think sega already announced that this time, aside from the japanese trivia mini-game, everything would be left in. Apparently they do listen to the fans every once in a great while.

played the demo of Yakuza 3.. really dont get the fuss made of this game. The graphics looked the top end of last-gen - to be polite. And the gameplay seemed typical Streets of rage affair..through an illusion of a very closed off open world. And then theres the rolling text speak..which joins the very last gen vibe of the whole thing.

Maybe instead of sticking them out every year they should put abit of polish into things

How about trying to actually play one of the games in it's entirety before flapping your jaw? What maked the Yakuza games great is the story and characters, though personally i think the combat is pretty fun as well. If you really think that Yakuza 3 looks like a PS2 game, you need to go back to the PS2, because your memory of how a PS2 game looks is severely distorted. I'm not saying that Yakuza 3 is the prettiest game around but it sure as hell doesn't look like a PS2 or xbox game.

I mean really, if you play through Yakuza 2 and don't think it's great by the time you are done with it, there's somethig wrong with you :P

LOL before flapping my jaw? did i upset you over my impressions of the previous game's demo?

I never mentioned the story (good or bad i've no idea of it). I can only go on whats been demo'd to me - a demo's purpose is to give you an idea of the game, and entice you to it. It did give me an idea of the game. And it didnt entice me. Enough said.

Yakuza 3 is amazing what are you talking about. I think it's the best in the series so far. I'm about 5hrs into the game, but already I care about many of the characters and the story is starting to look pretty damn awesome

Yes it does upset me when people critizise an entire series of excellent games over one demo, a demo of a game that is prettty much impossible to do justice in a demo. You can't condense a 20+ hours experience in to a 20 minute demo.I didn't say Yakuza 3 isn't good, because it is, i'm just saying it's the weakest of the 3 available games. Did you play Yakuza 1 and 2? They are just so much more gripping.

i wasnt criticising the whole series, i was giving my opinion on the Yakuza 3 demo..and stating that i didnt understand the fuss of it. The short comings i listed are intirely fair imo as they're clearly shown up in the demo. I didnt criticise the story because a demo has no chance of showing off that. It does however give a perfect representation of the visuals, and general gameplay - which i thought were both very dated

Yeah, no you are completely not critizising the entire series, it was just a fair and balanced comment on the demo :P

Well I guess since I'm not finished 3 I cant say but yes I have played Yakuza 1 and 2 and they were epic but in 3 I really feel for the kids lol

Hope they release uncut vers. this time...
i bought Ryu ga Gotoku 3 japanese and european vers.
i dont want to do that again :P
