Looks cool- I even had a heart skip when he got pulled from t he vent, lol.

I look forward to the Multi-platform release. They haven't shown anything that couldn't be done on screen by pressing a button. Hell, you have to look away from the screen to look at you controller anyway, which breaks the illusion, imo. I just don't get the importance of that controller...

Yeah I dont see the imprtance either.

Wow, you have to look at the controller to enter passwords....
Splinter Cell 1 did also not pause for entering passwords and it worked just fine.

And the zoom thing with the crossbow...seems more like a barrier, than an immersive element to me.

I think that the controller can be utilized for some great things, but most of the time, in the majority of games, you will be forced to do useless crap with it just for the sake of using it.

it looks cool. I would definitely play it if it came out on PS3 or 360 but I wont be buying the new Wii for it, I already made that mistake once, never again!

But neither of those have been any good for a long, long, long while. Unless their new zelda and 3D mario is a break from the tired norm, i don't think i'll ever even look at a wii-U. Even a new metroid prime couldn't convince me i don't think, and i'm a massive fan of that series.

yeah me too... i won't be buying the WiiU for those 3rd-party-multiplatformgames of Ubisoft, EA & Co (think ZombiU will be ported sooner or later anyway)... on a Nintendo-platform i mostly buy the Nintendo-masterpieces, cause they have a quality, design and attention to detail any other developer on any platform doesn't even come close to

Agree with that. When Nintendo get it right, they get it more right than anyone else in the industry. Even if Zelda and Mario follow the same formula, that formula is still better than 99.9% of everything else IMO. Ironic that playing them would be such a break from the norm these days. Games not trying to be anything else other than games, and ones that are fun. You know, that magic ingredient that's slowing being forgotten.

Got to say, the more I see of this, the more interested in a Wii U I become. It looks really excellent and more importantly, it looks like it has real tension in there. Great lighting too. No doubt it'll get some gash reviews because it's not Call of Wank.

Judgeing from the videos, I'd wager it's far from crap. So, yeah, it couldn't possibly be that.

Thats a stupid thing to say really... the multi-platform release? really, Ubisoft is trying to rally gamers who would buy a Wii U to help sell their game and use the Wii U's special controller that the other consoles just don't have, its what makes an exclusive game special and what makes rich companies like Microsoft money hat companies to get those games to their X360.

Here is a reality check just for you tho... do you really think this game stands a chance using the regular controllers of PS3/X360 even the over hyped Kinect?... really when Call of Duty which doesn't bother to use such gimmicks acts like a black hole swallowing up all the money?

For your sake "Zombie U" (which btw would not be called that if 'ported to other consoles...) better sell decent numbers because from an average gamer's perspective, specially an Xbox 360 owner there are just way too many first person shooters to buy this coming holiday season and the next and the previous for any game to be considered special and sell and still be played.

Even though I myself am not a fan of Ubisoft, I can see what they are trying to do and people just insinuating that the game should be multiplatform either have no idea how the competition titles sell or how important a new console has to sell so that Microsoft and Sony don't turn around and get all fearful and give us crap cut down GPU tech as has been repeatedly rumored.

If in case you forgot, Nintendo... despite their healthy finances do not have the same type of income as Sony, and both of those don't have anywhere close to a 10th of a percentage of the income of Microsoft.

And if we go back in time, Sega was around Nintendo's level only Sega was spending more than their revenue causing them to fail in the hardware sector.

Yeah, not really. I'm fed up with Nintendo using gimmicks to sell people on a new machine instead of making a new machine that's worth upgrading to. They have money because they've been playing it safe on the hardware side for a long while now. That and releasing slight variations on old hardware (Nintendo DS's anyone?, not to mention the 3DS, which is under-powered and relies on a gimmick, for people to buy over and over. It's like Apple overcharging for their devices. But hey, they aren't the great evil Microsoft, who is evil because they have been smart and successful enough to have more dough than the competition (beyond the fact that they do more than games- just like Sony, lol).

They are all big companies, I think you should just get over your awkward 99%-er misguided rage and accept the fact that none of these guys are the "Bad Guy" or the "Good Guy". They have different strategies but no one is sitting in an over-sized chair stroking a naked cat and giggling over how they've screwed a bunch of people. Or maybe you should start in again on how Microsoft started this generation prematurely because they are greedy, forcing Sony to launch early (which was still a year later and didn't have all those tech goodies you like to go on about), blah, blah, blah. Why don't you hate Nintendo for dominating the Hand-held market for so long. It's like the Occupy kids hating on corporations while playing with their Ipads at the park.

As far as this game and my comment- There is absolutely nothing shown for this game that couldn't be done with a pop-up menu on screen. Oh no! They don't pause the game when you are looking through your back-pack! That could never be done without a different screen :P Never mind the fact that you have to take your eyes off the screen to look at your controller. Yeah, that couldn't possibly be solved by a translucent overlay on screen. It would probably break the illusion less as well. Maybe you could hold the controller up toward the screen, blocking it, and aiming around... yeah, that sounds to be as much fun as the "invisible" steering in kinect racers, ie, not much fun.

The tech certainly doesn't take it beyond the current generation either. Ubi will probably release multi-plats just to make up for the money they won't make on the Wii-U. It's not like Ubi doesn't recognize Ninty's dubious track record with 3rd party support on it's consoles. I'm sure a multi-platform release is already in line once Nintendo gets it's early push. Of course, we are rapidly approaching the theoretical release date, and no one knows anything about it.

I think the game looks neat, and am always baffled when a company with such an emphasis on kid-friendly design, likes to grab super-violent exclusives (like Resident Evil and Mad World)...

Last I checked Sony probably has the least income of all three right?
Didn't they post another enormous loss?
Also one could make the case of Nintendo's evil on their treatment of 3rd parties no?

Anyway, to me the remarks about the WiiU controller seem to be pretty nit picky.
This game LOOKS (visuals and movement) awesome already, and if I had a choice to try this game on a standard or specialized controller, I'd choose the one it was originally designed for.

I could play a racing game on a standard controller, but wouldn't it be better on a wheel and pedal set up?
I could play a fighter on a standard controller but wouldn't it be something else on a fighting stick?
ETC

I think it's just easy to be skeptical since the WiiMote was just a bunch of bullshit and they obviously abandoned their hardcore fans.
This game deserves praise, but Nintendo does deserve criticism. WiiU will likely just be another system of a few gems and then the usual franchise sequels among a sea of shit.

i don't think it's that baffling tbh. i think they do it to "prove" they're not just a child-friendly casual system. the problem they have is that 1 or 2 "adult" games in a sea of thousands of E-for-everyone titles doesnt make you an "adult" system. i moved on from nintendo as i grew up, maybe nintendo need to move on from trying to be something it's not?

Your line of logical thinking is hilarious, just change the word Nintendo for Sega and Zombi U for Resident Evil Code Veronica (although the latter was not a launch title the point of it was to help sell the hardware) and you remind me of all the apathy filled gamers back when Sega's Dreamcast was launching and how they used that kind of logic to wait and see.

Funny thing about the wait and see and that those who are waiting are not buying and therefore not contributing.

Why is that important because new consoles always have to have something to set them appart even if the game is overhyped and crappy like the case for "Dead Rising 1" and the very kind treatment it got in reviews however the point of that game was to try and prove that the Xbox brand could also do NON-first person shooters while Nintendo and Ubisoft (and don't go placing all the blame on Nintendo... Ubisoft stands to gain an audience depending how the game turns out, in fact Ubisoft would be much more interested than Nintendo in using a gimmick to sell games remember their past E3s?) are trying to place a Zombie type first person shooter that will no doubt have online features to help sell the Wii U hardware and for Ubisoft to gain a new franchise.

Also @Tinks... if the WiiMote was just a bunch of bullshit that obviously abandoned their hardcore fans, whats Kinect? worm filled dog shit to completely screw their hardcore fans?

Its all business and money in how they try to gain new audiences... Nintendo was selling to new audiences... Sony copied and Microsoft went to town imitating every step Nintendo's WiiMote did but go further by giving the hardware for free by subsidizing its higher cost to make.

This is not about defending Nintendo here but pointing out that they are not doing anything different than ANY other console maker in trying to sell their new console hardware so the misery comments are just that, miserably hilarious hyperbole.

There's a huge difference between pretty much requiring devs to use YOUR new controller, and just having some optional device that can be utilized if someone wants to make a game for it.
Kinect is more of an option, and the Wiimote is more of a requirement. Big difference

WiiMote was and still is a gimmick.
The fact most developers had to plan for it pretty much sealed the deal on their history of poor 3rd party support. Also it took away time on making a good game and instead put it into trying to make it work with a Wiimote that WASN'T EVEN 1:1 FOR THE FIRST FEW YEARS

Since you brought up Kinect perhaps we can talk about how it's more than just a controller too. How it completely alters interface and interaction with menus on your system. To most people that alone legitimizes it

Not all these guys are doing the same things. They're businesses so yeah, of course they're trying to make money. They're all trying to carve out their own unique niche though.
Nintendo is clearly on a much different path than both Sony and MS.

I saved for almost a year back then so I could buy the DreamCast and all but a couple launch games on launch day. Nice try. I've also had an Intellivision, NES, Genisis, Super NES, Sega Saturn, PS1, N64, DreamCast, Xbox, PS3,Xbox 360, and PC. So you know what you can do with yourself.

It has nothing to do with apathy and everything to do with Nintendo sacrificing better hardware for a gimmick.

I guarantee Ninty paid for that exclusive. There is no other reason for Ubi to do it. It'll likely cost them if they DON'T go multi-platform. Everything else they do does except for Raving Rabbids, pretty much...
