They did a really good job.
Since 7350 DaysI do understand the purpose of cell shading in a title like this, and I think it looks very nice--not a huge fan of the character designs though.

Since 7350 DaysI think part of the problem..or rather one of the things that make it difficult to do this in a way that is truely convincing is that 3D does not animate in the same manner as 2D--the lack of motion in 3D space looks horrible--it's a technique in traditional animation..and we're not really used to seeing "2D" images animate so fluidly/mechanically. The principals of traditional animation are not lost entirely in 3D, but some things do certainly change.
Perhaps it's just because Trusty Bell has superior art direction in general--the effect is great here--but I'm just not digging it much due to the actual content I'm looking at.

AETOA is currently under reconstruction, so it'll look a bit funky for a while.
