Since 7035 DaysGoW is epic, sure, but most of all it's a very personal story about Kratos himself. His hate and struggle, and 2 is all about him being pissed - again. But to each his own, as they say.

However, i did see a pic and video of Okami running on the PS3, and yea, it was terrible. So it only being for older PS2 games statement may not hold any water.

I wouldn't say the game is as hard as NG, but it's no where near easy either. However, I wouldn't compare it to NG, I would more compare it to Prince of Persia.
