Anyone had a chance to pick this up and give it a run through? How does it stack up with Level 5's previous games?

We dont even have an official release date here in Europe Yet so Im afraid cant help you there but based on what I have seen so far of the game, I'm in, will be getting it when it's released. YOu would think the PS2 is dead by now but Man we still have God of WarII, Tomb Raider Anniversary, Rogue Galaxy, Final Fantasy Xii (to be released in three weeks here) among other titles I must be forgetting.

PS2 will never die it has way to much of a installed user base ..... only thing to beat it is pc lol

Ok i had the JP version.

I thought the games battle system was shite to be honest.

Graphics were great, animation and voice work seemed great (duno what the US/EU voices are like, but L5 usually have good ones).

The 3d Cel shaded cutscenes are jaw droppingly good.

All in all its a bit of a bland game , it has it's good moments.

The battle allows you to press the L2 and R2 shoulder buttons to pull of special attacks from the other 2 party members, but although it sounds like a good idea, after a while it becomes extremely tedious as the battle freezes whilsta cutscene plays.

Battle is an average hack and slah yawn fest with a few special attacks thrown in when you feel like it.

I wouldn't recommend it, but if you have nothing better to play you could buy worse.

I hope that WKS has a better battle engine than this, because the is one of the worst battle systems i have seen since Kingdom Hearts 2.

He's got you there, Jolli. The fact that you say it's as bad as KH2's Battle System make me happy, since I actually liked KH2's battle system. To each his own :P

Thanks for the impressions, doh. Guess I'll read up on some more reviews and impressions.

I never even got to any battles in Kingdom Hearts 1. I got so bored, I turned the system off and returned the game for a full refund! Disney characters...unthinkable!

I admit i do dislike Realtime battle, I woudln't say i am a hater.

I just expect more from realtime battles, something along the lines of Star Ocean 3, or Trusty Bell.

Just continously pressing the X button is boring as hell (with the odd trainagle thrown in, just to keep you awake)

I like the way Rogue Galaxy did it's random battles though.

There are no enemies on the maps, you get random battles but the NPC's disappear and enemies either drop from the sky or come up from under the ground. (it's a step in the right direction)

The most annoying thing though is the special attacks assigned to the shoulder buttons, it makes the gameplay very disjointed.

Still, I've been getting mixed reviews, so I'm just going to give it a rent and try it out for myself. Friend let me borrow his PS2 today, so I'm good to go for this and GOW2 now.

    Driftwood Comme avec Black Flag, qui ne reprend pas le système RPG des derniers AC, ni même leur approche du combat. Ils ont retravaillé le tout mais sans trahir l'intention de base. (il y a 4 Heures)
