i thought the engine was already up and running for that game ?

me far from intrested in it though, the best thing is, this game WILL fail, then squaresoft will NEVER support the 360 due to the two games they have released have done awfull so they will stick with the Wii and PS3 ... way to go square...

back in last weeks IGN mailbag, they said that MS would be publishing the game for the US release, and that they weren't sure if they would be taking advantage of the UR3 engine. Doesn't really make any sense, since I thought SE had 0 to do with development. Thought it was all mostly Game Arts, and why on earth would they remake the same game with a different engine? Makes no sense, but yea it is a rumor(kind of crappy one) so no worries.

Yes, Square Enix has confirmed that they are using the Unreal 3 engine for future releases; obviously, in Project Sylpheed’s case, the U3 engine has been used from the beginning.

I have seen many footages of this game, it looks very good IMO. The characters do seem cliché to me though. You have your (probably 17 year old :P) main hero, "his" girl and the badass - once friend - who turned evil...
But, who knows, the game’s characters and story may surprise me in the end.

I am looking forward to reading the first official review on Project Sylpheed; I wonder how well the English dub will be handled.

Yup, that's more like it. They released ABSOLUTELY nothing for the Xbox and I dont see that changing with the 360.

This is pure marketing, Square knows MS will pay through the nose for some AA material, the more they stall the more MS will pay. Square knows they need MS for sales as the PS3 wont do the sort of things PS2 did last gen, but they know MS needs them more... its the power plays =)

So yeah, similar to how Ubi took forever to announce AC for x360, same thing with square, and yeah MS will have to pay.

I can't see them porting Project Sylpheed to the UE3 when they already have the game working on an engine as it is.

I'm willing to bet $60 that FFVII will not appear on 360. The condition of the bet is that if it does come out that I'd use that $60 to buy it and be proven wrong, rather than give it to Optimus would just use it to buy it and prove me wrong =P.

i've lost all hope of SE to ever make a game for xbox 360. the way i see it they would rather make games for ps3,wii and ds than 360

i mean if their was a high profile game wouldn't they be talking about it or some kind of rumors like team ninja's games

at the rate 360 is selling in japan, we will never see a FF game or DQ b/c those are game just too expensive to make and selling them on 360 won't bring profit

not really i STILL belive that all square soft is doing is sitting on the fence, they are watching mistwalker with a keen eye, and WHEN BD and LO are a major success over here, SE will jump on board the 360 seeing that it is worth putting J-RPG on the 360, they only have enchanted arms to work off so far :(

i mean why would SE make such a risky gamble when they can let there ex team take that gamble, i just hope BD and LO do MASSIVE sales over here....because if they dont we have no chance in :(

but until then all we are getting off SE is a shitty MMO and some really fucked up game no one wants, SE just because this new game has a gun init does not mean that we on 360 want it...

I doubt it.

I have Project Slypheed and I don't think it will ever be released in the US. The game is basically a 2D background with 3D ship models. It doesn't require UE3. On top of that, its extremely easy which will leave a lot of westerners whining.
