Resistance Online

Has anyone been playing this online? It's very VERY good. I'm currently at staff sergeant rankings, and have won most of my games. I dunno if everyone else is crap, or if I am just good at online shooters (CSS for 3 years has definitely helped :p). Though I think playing ranked games will make it more difficult as I go along, playing with others of a high level.

It's really alot of fun, and would recommend it to anyone with the game, and anyone who likes online shooters should try it out.

I love Meltdown and Breach. If only breach didn't take so damn long I would play it more often. Those weapons make the online so much more interesting then most online shooters.

You'd be crazy to play this offline only.

Just like Me, he doesnt have a PS3 :( and wont be able to afford one for a long time! (I think, I might kill him otherwise :P) but glad you're enjoying it.

I played it briefly online, but I didn't find it all that compelling. Perhaps it's the fact that I play online FPS on PC's..I dunno. I think if you're only online on PS3 I can see it being one of the best apps right now, but if you play online on other platforms I think there are better shooters out there.

The online features are great, though. They did a really good job w/ the party system etc. Good implementation of online for a PS3 launch game.

The only online FPS I play on PC is CSS, I played it for 3 years so it's hardly alien to me. I like the node gameplay, yeh it's similar to UT2004, but in UT the weapons always seem weightless to me, it all feels a bit fluff for some reason. Maybe it's cause I bought it last year rather than when it first came out so it looked dated when I got it. It is fun though.

Like I said I think the weapons really make this game great online. I think you should spend some time playing it to get into it, then it starts to click.

I think I played it once. To be honest, having no recollection of whether I did or did not, even if I did, I might as well say I haven't. And seeing as I was able to sell it to some poor soul for a mere $8 less than I paid, I'm not going to buy it again to remedy this.

SP was fun enough for me. Really hard since I'm used to games with regenerating health. But me and my friend played it for 7hrs straight on co-op. We had what is called in the US "a blast."

Depends on the game, but both Motorstorm and Resistance support it, few people use it as there is no standard headset or simple chatting option. Which is where the problems occur. Sony need to push online chatting in some way imo.

I see. They really should have supplied a head set withe console. at least that's they way you prove to people that you are pushing the online aspect of the console but let's face it with no HDMI or componenet cables included with the PS3, I find this less surprising. That's how they rip people off, through accessories much like all the others microsoft and nintendo included. microsoft with their stupid harddrive & memory card prices! and nintendo not at least bothering to include a componenet cable with their console to at least make it look good through 480p.

I'd agree with you about ripping people off, but only if Sony's headset was proprietry, which it isn't. Any bluetooth headset (well almost) will work so Sony's not making anything from it. They do save money from not including it though.

Fair point. If all headsets work then great but I gotta hand it to them for having any standard hard drive work with the PS3 which IMO is a very ATTRACTIVE quality of the PS3 and one of the many reasons I will invest in one in the future!

what i ment by the comment is that i am sick of online gaming, i think i done to much WOW because now i cant stand online and having a major break from it all, plus it is a FPS :( and i am sick of hearing "ZOMG BOOM HEADSHOT" .... yes it was funny for the first month but now its nothing but vomit to the ears.

So the PS3 doesn't include a headset?

I'll agree having a HD, that can be switched out with a larger one, and not having a proprietary one like 360 is a big plus. Very good decision by Sony on that one. MS dropped the ball.
