It's great to see a game that absolutely delivers. I was waiting for this since E3 last year (or maybe since System Shock 2).

"These are the big challenges developers have been struggling to master for decades; narrative, emergence, a sense of place. If another game did just one of these as well as Bioshock, it would immediately qualify as a classic. When a game comes along that does all three, we can only be baffled and thankful. I spend my career, and my gaming life, waiting for a moment when a game just astonishes me, when I can't believe what I'm seeing, what I'm doing. Bioshock has five such moments.

When two reviews agree so completely in handing out such lavish (and specific) praise, I have the feeling we're looking at Game of the Year, here.

Yea I'm getting that feeling too, but I might not get it anyway, but it sounds extremely impressive sounds like it delivered ten fold.

"BioShock is a novel compressed into a first-person shooter. ...What we can tell you is you'll be playing this game for months to come, exchanging story elements to build up the bigger picture, and arguing about what it all means. Come, join the argument, play the impossible game."

"It manages to be both a tricky, exciting action game, a fascinating creation of an enclosed world and a deep enquiry about what it means to be human - a trick most action movies and books fail to achieve. "

Wow. That sounds like a killer app to me. Lets hope its creepiness doesn't turn more people off... and that no online play doesn't get a mild response from 360 gamers.

The fans have spoken. Concerning the graphics of the Halo 3 Beta: "There's so many little effects and things going on that make this game pretty much 2nd only to Gears at the moment."
