Superficially at least, Heavenly Sword is an almost impeccable display of sheer, unrestrained talent.
9.0 Graphics
Minor framerate and tearing issues aside, Heavenly Sword is an absolutel tour de force of visual splendour.
8.5 Sound
Voice acting, effects work and soundtrack hit all the rights buttons with gusto, although occassional dodgy level mixing hurts.
6.0 Gameplay
As solid as its component parts are, poor design decisions and awful structure mean they never make for a cohesive, satisfying whole.
6.0 Lasting Appeal
Despite the wealth of combos and extras to unlock, you'll be constnatly battling with tedium on subsequent play-throughs.
7.0

/Waits for more reviews to make up his mind.
I think with my gut, mind and most of all...wallet!
If this game worth my money?
Do I like the look of it?
Do I like how it plays?
Those are the ones I question pretty much before I buy a game.
Heavenly Sword, although that was a demo, I like the story, art and the characters and love the cutscenes.
Reviews are just one persons opinion, doesn't make it bad.
I for one can't wait for Heavenly Sword, one of the reason I got the PS3, for this franchise and other games somewhat like this.
Its around 21 days or so that the game is coming out :D
Playing: ???
PS3: Heavenly Sword - Dark Sector - Killzone 2 - MGS4 - Lair - Uncharted - Haze - God of War 3
360: Mass Effect - Assassin's Creed - Ninja Gaiden 2 - DMC4 - Too Human - Fable 2 - Resident Evil 5
graphics. they dont have time to make the "game"
a 7 for one of ps3's most anticipated and hyped up titles..lmao
kungfu chaos was sh1t (it was no powerstone thats for sure)....maybe MS knew more than they were letting on when they "let" HS "slip" through the 360 net
and alimo, what do you mean by "So the combat is a bit repetitive then it appears"
the combat has looked repetative from the 1st ever video its just a button masher with some QTE's trown in to try spice it up
DMC ftw !!!!!!!
8.5 for sound is a bit harsh given the acting talent on board also IMO.
I'm basing that only on the entire first chapter, the demo level and a few bits here and there later on (avoided the end to save spoiling it). Perhaps it peters off or gets tired but I had a blast playing it.
Definitely not a button masher either. If you play it that way it won't ever be fulfilling.
Halle Berry: Delgado i am feeling really reall dirty tonight, shall i call Jessica Simpson for a threesome?
Delgado: HALLE what have i told you about bothering me when i'm playing Mass Effect!!! now get out and dont come back for 2 months!! (Slams door

Alcohol and drugs and my biggest fans. They follow me where ever i go.
I played and enjoyed the demo, and liked all the other media they've released. I've already been sold for a long time. Could care less if it averages a 70% amongst reviewers. Nariko will be mine!
all about Crisis Core

I for one am glad my mind works like this...reviews are shit, sure I watch VIDEO reviews, its because Iw ant to see some more bad ass footage, and yes I do listen and consider it, but in the end I still make up my own mind of getting it or not.

lol Wuca, just let it go :P
all about Crisis Core
The fans have spoken. Concerning the graphics of the Halo 3 Beta: "There's so many little effects and things going on that make this game pretty much 2nd only to Gears at the moment."
Looks like they spent all thier dev time in the motion capture and animation studios, shame :(
What they don't mention is that you don't have to interrupt your combo-ing if you don't want to. You press circle to activate a special move once your style meter has built up. More-over, it has three levels each with increasingly powerful moves and it's also dependent on which stance you're in. You can just keep that there for an age if you want without having to get "interrupted" by the power move cutscene.
If you pull of a counter at the right moment, you will get a short animation but these are built in quite nicely and didn't interrupt the flow for me.
No mention of the air combo's at all, I thought they were quite fun.
Admittedly, the first time I had to switch from Nariko and do archery I kicked off. However, it won me over once I got used to the SixAxis and I had to play another section with the canon a few times for about 20 minutes as I spent half of it not realising you could guide the cannon balls! I didn't get bored, perhaps I'm easily amused.
A whole third chapter on it though? Hmmmm, I'd like to verify that but it would seem a bit much to me.
The idea of the "first level" as they put it, is that it sets up the story. You're not supposed to kick major ass at that point. Dumb.
Having not played the whole game through, couldn't comment on the length of time to complete it.
If you button mash in this game, you're not going to enjoy it.
Guess we'll see what the rest of the review say but I'm buying it anyway, even if it is 7 hours long.
I for one tried to button smash in the demo and I kept getting hit, so I stopped button smashing and focused on all the button combos I could on top of my head and the gameplay went veru smoothly, looked like a scripted trailer.
They don't even mention that you unlock new combos, new "power ups", new movies that you later on can max them out for more damage, kind of like God of War 2.
