i like this picture more (i think it's artwork rather then a render)

it is a good design. similar to altair, but different enough to make him stand out. i assume by the time the memories catch up to desmond (the guy with the memories of altair and ezio) i guess the suit will litterally be a guy in a white hoody and white jeans.

the presence of the ring fingers is a little weird. but i guess the tech has evolved so not to chop it off when the hidden blade shoots out...lol

i always assumed it was a significant visual thing for the assassins tho, seeing as lucy (the woman in present day) showed she was too an assassin by showing her hand with a hidden ring finger.

blah, whatever, i'm sure it'll be explained.

Holy cow... and I didn't think Altair's design could be beaten. Well, it has.

And, in a weird way, it does have that Italian 17th century vibe about it.

This one has TWO blades too by the way unlike Altair. It would be interesting to see what they do with the combat this time and I hope to god they sort out the gameplay... going around listening and stealing wasnt fun, not fun AT ALL!!

i dont think it surpassed altair, not by a long shot, but it still looks great. i can imagine it being hell for them to try to retain the iconic look of altair, but update it to a new time period, the more modern the setting become the more difficulty it will be to achieve i think.

I think it's going to be a Trilogy. The first one set during the crusades, this one 16th/17th century and I assume the last one will take place on the present day.

I said it before I will say it again, one of the most badass character designs I have seen!

Altair, Ezio and Ryu Hayabusa are my favorite character designs in gaming.
I was afraid that Ubisoft would loose their touch of elegant design from Altair for AC2 but I am glad they didn't.

AC is one of my favorite games to give me a good experience and special feel like in terms of characters, story, mood, atmosphere, music...etc. just great.

With Ezio, he has all 10 fingers attached which I don't know how he is gonna make a fist with his ring fingers attached.
And on top of that, I see AC having one of the most brutal attacks in gaming history along with NG2.

Each attack Altair does, be it daggers, short sword, hidden blade or a regular sword, you really feel the pain when you see it being done on the enemy.

Considering that the hidden blade in AC had the most brutal attacks I have seen, I just can't wait to see how they will do with two in AC2.

I know they will give us the same feel, but the problems they had in AC1 was two were I hated, same missions and couldn't skip the long dialogues/cutscenes.

But the list they have revealed in GI is very great in my opinion.

My favorite titles I can't wait for is NGS2 and AC2 for sure of all the games I know is coming, can't wait for next week for the reveal and definitely on E3 were they will reveal more.

Yeah it's weird how they put so much effort into the parkour stuff then made guards that couldn't chase you for shit. You turn a corner in that game and hop into hay and they're like OH MY GOD IT'S LIKE THE EARTH DEVOURED HIM!

They need to get rid of the easy escapes. Force the player to actually outrun the guards instead of hiding until they lose interest.

I think someone somewhere said that there's a hugely different mission structure now though so I think that part is covered. E3 will surely bring more insight.

Edit: err, I responded to alimo but it says korndog. Hrm. :O

im guessing trilogy (what game isnt these days) but the premis alows for as many games as they like i guess. sooner or later tho, the skills and memories of altair, ezio and whoever else they introduce will bleed into desmod, at which point you'll be a modern day assassin, but will you get a cool modern take on the altair outfit by that time or will you just remain average looking like he did in AC1

I think the last AC will be in present, and if they given Altair and Ezio a awesome design, they will figure something out for the modern one (example: Prototype).

That is a nice idea, I like it.

I hope they show much more of what is going on in the modern world, we didn't get much info about it in AC1, unless they are gonna go all out on the last AC.

Do u think Desmond will be the character of the 2nd game ?? I seriously doubt that. I think we will be seeing a completely new character. Desmond had the DNA of his ancestors from the crusades period. He cant have the DNA traces from another Era given that his ancestors are from the crusades region.

Where did u guys read about the different mission sctructure, LINK please ???

EDIT: Found it
"Sooo I'm looking at the new Game Informer right now, and it tells a few thing but only has one new image, the one we already have, the 5th one.

- You'll have a ton of new weapons to choose from including an axe, a hammer, a mace, a spear, 2 different sword types, a spear axe thing, and 2 smaller blades
- You CAN swim
- Da Vincis workshop is in the game
- Locations include Saint Marks Basilica, The Grand Canal, The Little Canal, and the Rialto bridge.
- The game opens in 1476, Altair is from 1191
- So you do indeed play as a new ancestor of Altair / Desmond
-You will see the countryside of Tuscany
- The "Auditore" family is mentioned
- The main characters name is Ezio Auditore de Firenze
- He is a nobleman of Florence
- Big characters are in the game including Machiavelli, Caterina Sofrza, and Lorenzo de Medici
- YOU DO INDEED FLY AND THERES A PICTURE OF IT.
and thats just what I got from the pictures. I'll let you know more details as I read more.
- Game will feature a new notoriety system that governs how enemy soldiers and people will treat you.
- You can disarm enemies and use their own weapons against them this time.
- each weapon has a special move.
- 16 unique mission types.
- No more ease dropping or pick pocketing missions.
- If you get beat up to much you will need to see a street side doctor to regain ful strength.
- Hidden objects (like flags in the first one) are there to uncover but this time if you track them down you will get in-game bonuses that make it worth your time.
- Items include, flags, statues, and gold coins and more that isnt mentioned.
- New enemy types with unique attitudes and weaknesses are present in the game. Archers are mentioned, as well as elite enemies, dagger wielders, "Brutish" armored troops with heavy armor and 2 handed swords and axes, and an intelligent halberd enemy will probe hiding places with their weapons if they think you're near by.
- While hiding in a hay bail you can assassinate people this time, but it may expose your position.
- You can still climb towers and ride horses
- The Lorendo de Medici assassination is in the game.
- There is now a night and day sequence in the game.
- 240 people are working on this title."

thats how it should work (if AC1 is anything to go by) at the end of AC1 desmond had already learnt eagle vision (hence why he could read all the crazy messages on the walls) by the end of AC2 he'll have learnt more, and if the third game focuses entirely on desmond, then he will be a full blown assassin by that point. but the question is, will the cool outfit design be present at that point, or will it litterally be how desmond looked in AC1, a plain white hoody and jeans? cos it'd be a shame to lose all visual links with altair and ezio. especially since they look so damn awesome.

Didn't some of Altair's abilities bleed into Desmond at the end of the first one, which explains why he could use 'eagle vision' to look at the hidden writings on the wall?

Edit: Damn, forget that. You beat me to the punch!

desmond will be in AC2, i can almost guarentee that. it's be stupid to remove him since he's the integral thing linking everything together. yes, he had ancestors from the crusades period (altair), but that doesnt mean he cant have ancestors in DeVinci's time. i think ezio is a decendant of altair. and desmond, is a decendent of ezio, and thus altair. skills from each game will end with desmond, and he will become the final games main character.

I think KORNdog's right in what he's saying.

And alimokrane, that information all sounds awesome. One thing that sticks out for me is the huge variety of weapons at your disposal - that was slightly lacking from the first game. And of course the fact that there'll be no more repetitive missions is very important.

Yeah, the thing is variety of weapons hopefully equates to variety of moves and not just a look thing. Remeber Warrior Within ? they had tons of different looking sword/hammers but they literally meant the same move all over again.

To be honest, I am going to be very carefull this time around. I wont jump in straight away and buy the game blindly.

Not only this, but there will no longer be cinematics in the game. Instead they will be moving towards more quick-time event cut scenes in the game. This is to keep the gamer engaged in the crucial gameplay/story moments. This is a great step to keep the gameplay more engaging than it was in the past game.
As long as they do not pull a QTE fest!

Just to know something, one source says its GLIDING and not flying.
I hope Leap of Faith is still in the game.

I found ease dropping and pick pocketing a nice thing to gather info, really liked it, but in AC1 it was too much of it.

A few screens of AC2, start at time 2:50.

Wow its awesome, new weapons each having its own attacks and much more.

Looking at the screens I don't like one thing about the outfit, the long clothing on the left shoulder hanging down, its too long, I thought it was shorter to cover on arm like the render shows.

And the glider, I hope they don't overuse it or force us to use it much.

I am so excited for this game now :D

One thing they should let us gamers do is Mission Select or some sort of a "Continue to play for fun with all upgrades and weapons" mode.
