Technically impressive, but doesn't yet look like a game I'd necessarily want to play, but then I say this as a person that hasn't played anything more than a mere small aspect of the first Crysis title.

Holy shit, I knew it would look good but that put pretty much every console game to shame. Looks like the best looking game is on BOTH systems, thank god. Maybe it'll put an end to this BS for at least a while.

The physics and AI look great, as does that fact that consoles get a map editor. Still worried the MP won't be so great but that was certainly a VERY impressive video. Looking forward to seeing more about the game. I really like the NY setting as well.

The facial animation bit looked completely amazing, but the rest of it doesn't have me excited at all. Maybe when I see some HD footage or some hi-res, undoctored screenshots, the sheer image quality will cause me to change my tune, but as of now, I'm not seeing it, and the lack of style really makes it seem uninteresting.

Lack of style? I don't know. I think Crysis had fantastic art direction. Oh, and a trilling single player experience. I can't wait to play it personally.

Aside from the nanosuit and the alien jazz, the game seems heavily reality-based with its visuals. It just doesn't really do it for me. And for whatever reason, I didn't really enjoy the campaign. I did at first, but after messing around with the suit's abilities and finding what worked best, I felt kind of in a rut.

need to see it direct feed to really judge. but it looks pretty damn good. i'm with ron tho, it's a pretty style-less game, but then it's focus is on recreating reality so that's bound to be the case. at any rate it was the gameplay that i didnt like in the first crysis, and unless they change that i'm not gonna be that interested.

Well hopefully you're just not the target audience, because it's a great game and I'd hate for them to change what does work.

the game started out great, but it seemed like it relied too much on that open world design, to the point it felt TOO open, which is rare for me to say that. It's better than too linear no doubt, but it just seemed like it lacked direction in a lot of parts, and once the alien aspect kicked in full force it just got frustrating to me.

My biggest gripe is just the the bland MP, that is my biggest concern about any FPS, as that mode can give you hundreds of hours while no matter how amazing the campaign, that isn't were peopl spend a lot of time, or at least the VAST majority.

I don't think this game is lacking in style, as it's "style" is basically amazing use of lighting, AI, and physics, and destruction. If that video is a true indicator, this game is gonna take many aspects of the genre to new levels on consoles.

Killzone 2 and Gears 2 both had a lot of visual style, but both failed in terms of MP due to many poor design decisions. IMO of course.

I'm not sure I found the destruction in Crysis all that amazing. I mean, punching shacks apart was cool initially, but that's about the extent of it. The physics didn't really enhance the gameplay for me much either.

Man, I don't think I played any Gears 2 MP except for Horde mode...which was awesome. I really don't like cover-based shooters online all that much.

Well I do agree that Horde mode was badass, I was just refering to the versus stuff, which was a trainwreck imo.

I do think that the map editor could be a really interesting part of the game though. I love it when people make popular maps from other shooters.

My biggest hope is simply for co-op, but I'm willing to bet a lot of money we won't be seeing that. No shooter these days should go without co-op, IMO that's just a must-have feature at this point as it gives games SOOO much more value.

For me, the graphics and physics were just the icing on the cake. I loved Crysys for its solid shooting mechanics, and the variety that the nanosuit and open landscapes provided. It doesn't hurt that it has consistently solid art direction, story and music. For a single player experience I just found it solid on all fronts. If they could provide an equally thrilling co-op and mp game, it would be the PC's Halo. The game is just too demanding to get people interested in mp wihtout providing a more unique experience though..

Fair enough. I'm not even faulting the game in any capacity. The graphics are nuts, and the shooting did feel good. For whatever reason, it just didn't click for me though.

Looks pretty damn amazing, as far as I can tell from that low res vid. But, I'd have to see some high-res direct-feed to see what it really offers.

Crysis is a good game in it's own right. Also, it's funny how people seem to think that when a game has realistic graphics, it has poor art. Which is obviously plain ridiculous.

Yes, Crysis could've done better in terms of colourpalette and contrast to make it look more realistic (some excellent Crysis mods/configs show this). But that's the only area it lacked art-wise. Otherwise, it's excellent...

Camera dude sucks. Show the PC screen and not that 360 one! I can't see the editor from the 360 screen...

I never said it has poor art. When the majority of the game is aiming to look realistic, it can't really have an art style of its own(obviously with the exception of the nanosuit and alien stuff). Once the initial awe wore off at how good it looked, I found myself pretty bored with it. That's just me though. I can easily see how someone would feel differently.
