Mailman done stole my copy! It says "delivered" under status, but alas, nothing on the the doorstep. I did hear the truck earlier, but no love at me door. So now I'm off to start a bitch fest. So awesome.

Anyway, turns out the jackass dropped it off at the wrong house, but luckily the people at the house where he dropped it off were nice enough to obtain our phone number(since they had our address)and contacted us. So long story short, I'll pick it up tomorrow mourn on my way to school. Mailman's life spared....for now.

it's normally an option that the shipper(or you request the shipper to require) has to choose to select beforehand, but also depends on the carrier. Pretty much, I've learned my lesson :p

Anyway, think I'm going to have practice some before I'm ready to go online(need to renew Gold subscription too). I'm way too rusty, or I could just let my younger sister play online for me and beef up my winnings :P

also sanded my D-pad the other day.

btw, I found my old Hori SC2 PS2 stick, so could I be able to use it on my 360 if I got the XFPS 360 adapter? I think it allows you to use PS2 peripherals, right?

You should just get the 360 hori stick so you have headset support built right in. I think I have that same arcade stick though. I love the artwork on it.

Yeah I've realised I can conduct my practice in unranked matches so that my developing of tactics doesn't send my stats flying all over the place.

I still need that stick though, I keep messing up my diagonals.

No wai, they told me in that other thread that the d-pad was no big deal :P

I think getting to champion level against the AI will help too.. it would have helped in VF4 at least. Because once you get to that level against the AI, you really need to pull out all the stops. The hardest thing to do in VF4 and use well (imo) was the multiple evade move (evade + throw escape).

never had a problem with the dpad to be honest. It was fine on DOA4. it just needs some getting used to that's all.

It's fine until you start missing counters because it doesn't register your input.

During online play, yes but I always assumed that was due to lags but it could indeed be the D-pad now that I think about it. We'll never know I guess.

So question now, do you have counters in Virtua Fighter ?

You have evades and escapes, which are equally important. Counters are generally character specific moves.

About D-pads. I have two controllers one has quite ok d-pad (still not good) other has the worst D-pad I have ever seen. Good thing is that is my secondary controller so my friends have to play with that :D

I see. Man, I really want to get this game but with Eternal Sonata, Mass Effect and Assassins Creed this month, I simply cant afford to. those three games will be £100 at least.

Renting a fighting game ? I dont know it's all about having it for a long time to actually get good at it so I am not sure about renting. Might rent eternal sonata though like you said along with Dead rising and Enchant arms which I still havent played. in fact, it's not just a matter of money but having some BLOODY time! :D renting when you dont have time to play is pretty pointless! the holiday season is just so crowded this year ... too much ... SHIT I forgot Naruto as well AGhahahahaha!

anyone else thinks that the 360 version of VF5 is a bit dark? and I cannot see any gamma or brightness settings - it's a shame

apart from that - wonderful fighting game. Except for the lack of ending sequences ...

And that indeed confimrs what I said on that Call of duty 4 thread. PS3 games just have better lighting in general.

Wuuuhh?

Lighting isn't the same thing as the gamma levels. 360 games tend to be "darker" and PS3 games lighter, and often washed out. A LOT of comparison articles have pointed this out. But as for actual game lighting, the 360 is better in this case... and in most cases in multiplatform games.

If you have your TV adjusted for your PS3 (which truly is too bright/washed out too often) then you should adjust your TV.
