Public beta is available at http://www.irontowerstudio.com/

I got to play it a bit yesterday and I have to say it was very cool. Definitely has a lot of potential.

Here is some screens:

The graphics are just terrible, but i guess i caa live with that if the game really delivers on teh old school RPG thing. Is it anything like the good old classics? :)

Just hang in there for a while. First I was a bit eh, hmm I dunno about this. After just playing it more, I was hooked. Sure it's a bit buggy and needs some tweaking...but I am really interested to check out the final game.

I only have tried assassin character type, so I have no idea how much differences there is between different classes. Stats can affect some conversations too. Like I can sometimes try to do some surprise attacks in conversations. It just didn't go too well in the picture I posted :)

Combat reminds me about Fallout 1&2. Turnbased with action points, attacks have % to hit, can target legs, arms and head etc. I just don't personally like the Fallout style inventory.

Oh yeah remember to save often! There is no autosave and enemies are strong.

I was thinking mroe in terms of the game system. Do you ahve stats like charisma, agillity, strength and intelligence and stuff that affects dialogue trees and what is possible to do or is it the same old skyrim bullshit where you are some superman that does everything?

I really miss the old stuff, where you had to choose what to be good at and when your stats had a rea impact on your game experience :(

I think stats are affecting conversations quite much. My dexterity and perception has been helpful for me.

It's too early to say if you can be skyrim superman or not but I would guess that you need specialize.

Here is the stats screen (not mine):

I have only got more points to rise my general and combat skills so far. I guess you can get some stat points too but I am not sure how. I should probably read that ingame help thingy.

Are exploration and quests Fallout-like as well? I'm not sure if I'd be interested in a Fallout-like combat focused RPG.

I am not sure if it's just the demo but you start from city. You can't go running around in the wilderness. You do get some missions outside the city. Those mission places are drawn in the map. You select the place from the map and there you are. Usually the areas are quite small (one fight or dialogue). In the map I saw 2 bigger cities but unfortunately those aren't available in the demo.

I have done some missions without fighting. I would guess something like trader class wouldn't have that much fighting, but I have only played assassin.

You should check out the demo. Download size was only like ~250MB :)

Quoi de neuf ?
  • Driftwood
