Sometimes they will, FWIW places like Play.com normally send their games out a couple days before street date.
Been playing it nonstop and I kind of wish I started on easy now, haha, the way enemies sneak up behind you is fucking irratating, you only need 3-4 to surround you and your pretty much dead as they hack the shit out of you.
Some of them move crazy fast.
My biggest complaint is that every episode (the levels are basically like TV episodes) you lose all your ammo, flashlight, guns and batteries and have to start from scratch, it can make some situations really hard becayse you just don't have enough ammo to fight everything off, running is normally not an option either.
That aside the game is very good, besides the few fits of rage I'm loving it.
Edit:- You will probably want to play through twice anyway to get all the manuscript pages.

It's simply just the latest reviews posted in the exact same thread, on the official alan wake forums might I add, as the one containing Remedy's direct reaction to all the reviews thus far. If you pay attention, none of what I listed are my own words, they are the words of people on the official alan wake forums talking about the reviews. Did the lack of quotes on all of it confuse you, or what? :D
Not exactly "scouring the internet" when it's right there.
There's no need to scour the internet for strong reviews to a game that has already been reviewed at a 9 or better 40 times already, and that's even leaving off quite a few that don't follow the 1-10 scale. :P
Now consider the fact that metacritic is missing over 30 of those 9+ reviews. I know you're a smart guy, do the math. :) Obviously metacritic doesn't consider all those reviews as important enough to place alongside some of the other sites they follow and I completely understand the need for a "control" group, as it were, to prevent too much heavy skewing of the results, but reviews are reviews as far as I'm concerned, so long as they have a history of reviewing titles without some obvious agenda. Hell, metacritic even accepts reviews of some Xbox centric magazines and websites or playstation centric magazines and websites, so so much for control right?
This is especially true as you constantly see new review sites hop on and off metacritic's list of followed sites, and you are compelled to ask sometimes, what exactly makes whoever it is that makes those decisions any more qualified to judge which reviews matter from which ones don't than anybody else out there? Hell, some of Alan Wake's heaviest praises have been sung by wildly popular gaming blogs that don't even hand out scores to their reviews in the first place.
Yep, I'm excited about Alan Wake, very much so. However, there have been many games that I've been excited about, but I think I'm very honest about what I think of the quality of those games once I try them out myself. My hype was literally through the roof for Fable 2, and I came away from Fable 2 immensely disappointmented at the quality of the game, considering it was probably my favorite title on the original xbox, although I played the pc version :P. In fact, I'd say Fable 2 is one of the worst experiences I've had with a highly anticipated game. That's an opinion I expressed on this very site. This from the person that created a thread just to state how unbelievably excited I was about Fable 2.
I was super excited for Infinite Undiscovery, as I'm sure you know, and criticized reviews that I felt may have gotten it wrong, only to come back and agree wholeheartedly with every negative review about the game. I couldn't even advance very far into the game because I was just that disgusted by the quality of what I was playing. I started out excited for Splinter Cell Conviction when the new direction was revealed at E3, then as time went on I began openly criticizing the game on this very site for not looking like it was going to be very good, that is until I started seeing more promising things, and then the demo just did wonders for me, and the final game ended up even more incredible than I could've ever hoped.
So, long story short, don't you worry scoobs. Despite my level of excitement, if Alan Wake is a disappointment, or not as good a game as I hoped it would be, you'll certainly hear that from me. Until then, however, please respect the fact that the hype train is coming through! :P

If you think he is trolling ignore him.
Not that he was his comment was sound, but yet the "only buy this game if your hyped" comment was not moaned at? really people double fucking standards.

Prepare To Drop!!
Also, I'm now officially on blackout for this game until I get it myself. There has noticeably been a new phase in the strategy as of this morning. Mofos are spoiling significant chunks of the story left and right, even on GAF, with an added bit of advice from a simple concerned citizen warning (yes warning) not to buy it. :P
I don't want to get spoiled any worse than I already have been, and that's pretty bad enough already. I was fortunate enough to at least avoid whatever the heck it was that was spoiled on GAF.
