Yes Mistwalker is all over it Sakaguchi will be just as hands on as he is with Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey. Except I believe Sakaguchi will be writing AND directing this entire game (whereas he wont be directing for either Blue Dragon or Lost Odyssey) Some of the story in Blue Dragon was brought together by a combination of Sakaguchi and Toriyama's ideas. The story for Lost Odyssey is being written by an award winning Author in Japan named Shigematsu and I believe the director of the game will be the guy who was battle planner for Final Fantasy tactics.

ahhh I see, at least we don't have to worry about Cavia now ;)

after seeing what artoon did with BD, I'm more than happy with them doing Cry-On.

I pretty much accepted that maybe Cavia would get it done, but why not go with Artoon? They have the experience with the 360 hardware and could potentially achieve even greater results this time around. So I'm happy to see them working on the game.

I feel much more comfortable with Artoon than Cavia so I think this is a win although I thought this would be the title that gets Cavia out of their bad streak. Or is Cavia now doing Lost Odyssey... lol jk jk :D

It says the Feb content for Blue Dragon will allow even players who have already finished the game to enjoy it all over again. Not only that, they plan on releasing several more updates after that one (spaced out I'm sure). They feel like they are still in the middle of developing it, that's how much they want people to keep enjoying it months and months from now. They are also developing the translated versions (8 langs like neo says), two Chinese, Korean, French, German, Italian, Spanish, English. Of course not just subtitles but full voice dubs. They also intend to release it in places like India, New Zealand, South Africa, he is looking forward to what people in India for example think of Blue Dragon.
It's going ot be a while before you get to see Cry On. They're still re-iterating on design and characters but things are coming together quickly so see something "soon enough".

The Kusunoki Manabu guy is the concept art lead for Blue Dragon (and Cry On, apparently).

The timeline will be:

Ash
Lost Odyssey
Cry On
then...if approved, they plan to make Blue Dragon 2
Previously the character designer for Cry On was Kimihiko Fujisaka, of Drakengard "fame". But after Kusunoki worked with Sakaguchi on Blue Dragon, he shared his ideas on Cry On and they decided to collaborate on the project instead. Kusunoki is the main character and concept designer for Cry On now, and the level of collaboration is much higher than that of Blue Dragon (more comparable to the level of collaboration with Toriyama on Blue Dragon actually).

Why is this GREAT news? Because Kusunoki created the world of Panzer Dragoon, set the base character and dragon designs in the original, and directed Panzer Dragoon Saga. After rising all the way to the top, he had to join his friends in a little venture called Artoon which pretty much doomed his creative juices....... until now.

Sakaguchi is pretty excited about this new partnership he has and mentioned that after Cry On, once Blue Dragon 2 is a go they will definitely be working together again.
Seriously how friggin lucky are 360 fans we'll be getting some great stuff from these guys. The same guy that was concept art lead for Blue Dragon is taking care of stuff for Cry On. I can't wait. Sakaguchi while working with Artoon has found a very talented guy whose work he trusts :)

I guess this means that there could be some major shakeups in Cry On's art design? We might not be seeing that girl in the game anymore I was really digging her character design, but I'm sure whatever this guy will come up with should be cool. He is the panzer dragoon guy afterall. Microsoft better approve that Blue Dragon sequel. I mean after the first it would be crazy for them to pass on something so good that will clearly gain popularity.

I agree with that duckroll guy the new art does seem less Generic than the last.

Today is a great news day.
Blue Dragon

* It's "impressive" BD sold over 150k, considering 300k install base in japan
* he expected about 100k. though its sales is much slower, now he thinks it will be up to 200k around for LTD.
* He jokes that BD6 may be a 1m seller.

* DLC for shmup part, for those who find it difficult.
* DLC that enable to begin 2nd loop with 1st loop status.
* More to come.

* Now porting BD for other regions.
* 8 languages (English Chinese(2) Korean Spanish French German Italian)
* It will be not only subbed but totally dubbed. (some may depressed? heh)

Cry-On

* You'll see some of actual screenie in the near future.
* Manabu Kusunoki (Panzer Dragoon Zwei) is now assumed as main designer.
* Some of art design has been changed since last announcement.

Future Titles

* A.S.H will be come first, then Lost Odyssey and Cry-On.
* If there will be green light, he want to make BD sequel after these titles.
The guys on gaf are delivering in that thread. Microsoft better green light a Blue Dragon sequel :)

lol Blue Dragon 6 may be a million seller haha I don't it'll take that many sequels before this franchise reaches a million :D It may hit a million when it comes to the USA and Europe I pray it does.

how the hell is ASH going to come first before LO? They've barely shown anything on that game ;P

Actually I remember ASH having an early '07 release, but still, they haven't shown anything really new lately on it. I wonder when they plan on doing that

They already showed LO way in the early stages, so why not with ASH? I guess it's the BD treatment for ASH, just weird they did the complete opposite with LO. But then again, I guess LO is their pride and joy, so maybe thats why they showed it off early. To get people buzzing, in which it did ;)


I wonder how good the BD dub will be? Owell doesn't really matter, since you can have the original Japanese voices with subs. And yea, 150k for BD in Japan, is pretty impressive.

Yup, I probably will do the same. However, I said the same thing about Enchanted Arms, but later on I found myself with the English dub on, and actually enjoyed it for the most part.

Really wish they could give us an exact US/Euro release date, though.

According to sakaguchi in gameinformer the game comes June to the USA I assume same month for Europe then again... this is a jrpg so hopefully you guys don't have to wait extra long for this one.

Hopefully the European version will take about as long as Dark Cloud 2 took to release over there, or more like Rogue Galaxy

However, I wonder if the US/Euro release will get the DLC updates, and some more that have yet to be released for the Japanese version? Some extra optional bosses and what not

Yup, it would be pretty crazy. Again, I hope MS brings out the marketing A game when this is released. There is no reason why this game shouldn't sell over a million WW.

So now they tell me i can play the game after i finished it (with a patch), too bad i went over my saved data.. DAMN IT !
(one thing i will say is that Blue Dragon has next to 0 replay value :(, ie starting from the beginning, I have yet to even get half way through the second time, guess i will just wait for the EU version)

Everything else sounds good, I hope they don't change the Art style of Cry On, because I love Cel shaded graphics :(.

I hope they stick with the cel shaded hand drawn look. I will be massively dissapointed if they change it.
