for 360 too.

he definately looks cooler in black. it really brings out the red.

any word on the size of this figure? i have the 12 inch altair and it'd be nice to have this guy next to him in the same scale, if he's smaller then i'll probably just end up renting the game.
Holy crap £70!!! No thanks.

Still not revealing much about the mission structure. That's going to make or break the game for me

Sorry Ubi, all this talk hype was also on AC, and that game became repetitive in the long run.
I will go with causion on this one before I get excited. I do want to know how the levels and story turns out though, and the weapons.

Exactly. They worked their magic on me the first time. Well it's not going to happen again. They need to prove they have fixed the game's flaws before I decide to jump in.

I will buy it regardless,I think Ubi deserves my money this time, with the first I didnt buy it but this one looks too good to pass, besides they said they scraped the mission structure of the first maybe this time its actually good, and those graphics I mean it looks off the hook

That's why its the traditional Ubisoft hype talk.
Saying something is very different from excecuting it. I rather experience AC2 (gonna get it on PC btw) and then judge if they improved AC or not.

Yeah, just like they changed Sands of Time into Warrior Within.

Wish we had the same return policy here in the UK :(

The new Prince of Persia wasnt THAT bad. repetitve YES but there was some goodness there. They dumbed down though and made it semi-automatic removing all challenge to be honest.

The only GOOD was the setting of a very middle eastern fantasy tale, and the story, thats it.

And yet I haven't seen a single guy that got the dying less than a 100 times achievement. If you die more than a hundred times in a game it's not without challenge by my measure. Regardless of whether failure is punished by kicking you around menus or loading the game back up, fact remains you have failed more than one hundred times during that game, making the room to improve blatantly obvious.

Ben Mattes total disbelief and disappointment when witnessing people's reactions to the lack of a game over screen is something I can - at this point - fully understand.

OK, I'll hand you that one. I didnt get it the first time but did on my second play through. Maybe the abscence of a game over screen is what makes it look less challenging but you cant help but feel that platforming became sort of less interesting.... Yeah, that's the right word, less interesting because you're not involved that much.

Level design has been compromised a LOT too. As much as I have actually enjoyed those plates, they are a pathetic excuse for the abscence of intricate level design. No puzzles to challenge you either... It's really hard putting all what I feel about the game into words. It's one of those things that you love so much yet you hate so much at the same time, funny as it may sound :D

Well I dunno what it is with me and instinctively defending PoP, I can't help myself. I suppose it's because while it's not as good as Sands of Time, and diminishing returns on concept is part of that equation really, it's kinda my new Sands of Time in terms of it doing stuff the masses don't like and their vocal protests will most likely morph a sequel into another Warrior Within brand of bending the base mechanics into something it wasn't intended for. You do not want a lives system in an open world game even if you think you do, and when it happens I think this new setup will be hopelessly broken by it.

So yeah, sorry for off topicness! Assassins! Spikes in neck! Woo!

I loved the first AC, even with it's drawbacks.

I'm finding it hard to get as excited about part 2 mainly due to the fact that ezio doesn't seem nearly as interesting as Altair, but it should be an improvement over the first as far as overall gameplay is concerned.

As long as they continue Desmond's story in a big way in the sequel, it will be worth it for me.

I dont like Ezio's character very much, atleast what Ubisoft have given us.
Altair had much more of a darker and cooler backstory and i really like that.

But I did enjoyed Ezio's badass long jump from the CG trailer, very cool.

Ezio its much more interesting from a character design perspective than Altair that I think its not even in the same league but then again I find Altair design very boring and one of the things I didnt like about the first.

i'm the opposite, ezio is TOO flamboyant, verging on homosexual in his design...lol, altair just looked bad ass.

I'll blow some minds and say I like them both. The writing for Altair was terrible though, and his "arrogant nature" felt really hamfisted and forced, delivered with the same conviction as the first few minutes of plumping expertise from a porn actor soon to hop out of his utility belt.

Despite being one dimensional I liked the look of Altair though and I liked his role. Ezio I reckon is super impressive in that it retains the iconography of the series, yet gives off a completely different vibe of an entirely different era. It's already been said that there will be a greater emphasis on Ezio than there ever was on Altair, and judging by his background story so far it's evident it's been given much more thought. I just hope the two narrative threads in this complement one another better.

The themes of Altait's story were royally butt-munched by the overarcing sci fi plot, spending half the game establishing how all religion to a degree is corrupted and that it's virtually impossible to find truth through remnants of history, then all of a sudden going BUT WAIT, HERE'S A GLOWING MAGIC BALL THING FORGET WHAT I SAID EARLIER THIS IS IT. Great. Brilliant way of knocking an otherwise surprisingly sophisticated commentary on its ass.

lol, i agree. although i think the first game already has much deeper sounding idea behind it, ezio's story just sounds like a run of the mill revenge story...the way they said divinci was the "Q" of assassins creed, made me cringe a little. it's james bond in a white robe...lol
