I did say it is fine with the way they did it, but "I" would like to see me being more in control in the attacks between medium and heavy but I am not (unless I am missing something here that I havent picked up i the game).
However it is nice to keep pressing the attack button and not focusing much on the movelist and be able to watch every attack and enemy around you.
And besides, saying "primarily because it's the small part of a larger picture in terms of what you do in the game." is a bad excuse, I dont agree with that.
If the devs wanted a in-depth combat system they could easily do so with all the other stuff they currently have, but they wanted very easy controls so any Batman fan that isn't in "beat em up/hack and slash" games can pick it up and play and I do understand why and I am OKAY with that.
As I said before, the game is good for any Batman fan and I definitely see that and feel that and the devs did indeed have that fan service and easy access for this game, and it is nothing wrong with that.
I am just saying this from my own experience that, the combat in this game do get worned, a bit...unless you use batarang inbetween the attacks which IS awesome!
But I do hope my mind changes the further I get into the game with enemies that is a bit more challenging.
Challenge Mode is very good though, haven't tried it much but I will definitely get into it more, maybe I will appreciate the combat more than I do now.

But its okay, now I know how to "play the game" in this forum, I will leave you fans alone.

Fair enough, the combat system isn't for everybody, but I still think you want it to be something it's not - the emphasis in Batman: AA's combat system is in timing and counters, which wouldn't be the case with the addition of heavy and medium attacks in my opinion.
Besides, many people find hack 'n' slash games dull, so at least this game has tried to stay away from that and boasts some strategy to it.
But whatever, lets put that aside, not the place.
Blmbox...I am still saying the combat for Batman is still fine because I understand what kind of people the devs is aiming for with this game. But "I" (dont know how many times I can say this) hoped for another combat system, but its not that much of a crucial thing that breaks the game for me.
What could break the game for me was the animations, weight of the attacks and hit detection, but these devs nailed those down pretty good.
But whatever, lets put that aside, not the place.
Regardless, YOU are the one acting all shocked that fans of the game are defending it after you put on one of the biggest displays of fanboy game defense I had ever seen. That's where you are a hypocrite.
Also, my beef isn't with you wanting a different combat system. It's the fact that you said it was a button masher when it isn't. Button mashing and not fighting intelligently will get you locked into attacking enemies when you shouldn't or attacking enemies that you shouldn't(as they'll break your combo), and the result is getting attacked without the ability to counter.

Because Im a super fan of Ninja Gaiden Black and 2 and DMC too and I think combat in those games especially in the Ninja Gaiden Series are the best out there and I love the combat in Batman AA so I dont know what kinda of people are you talking about here.
Again if you want to make some good decent combos in this game you cant button mash its just not possible, this game combat is more deeper than you are giving credit for.
HUNTED BY HEAVEN....HATED BY HELL....DRIVEN BY VENGEANCE!
I am not shocked the fans of the game are defending their favorite game, they have the right to do that as much as they want, do it for the rest of your life if I care.
But I AM playing the same game as you are, experiencing the same game, and I am just adding my opinion on the experience I had, so far...you had NO experience with the co-op whatsoever in NGS2 and you kept dragging on how much you wanted that to be in like if that feature was not in the game would suck, even so you cant say your opinion ONCE and then leave it at that.
Any fan will defend their game and try to explain more or so to people who dont understand the franchise, that is what I was trying to do.

They made it so even though you are not into those type of combo style game can pick up and play right away and do some sweet moves...awesome counter attacks in this game BTW.
And yes, I do know you cant button mash in this game, hell I tried and died like 3 times hahaha, but I am saying I want control over my medium and heavy attacks, but I am not saying "omfg the game sucks" just because it doesnt, because it doesnt suck, its one of the best western devs has done along side God of War and Wolverine...and probably Dante's Inferno (dont see much hope in Darksiders IMO, no offence but thats just me).
I hope you guys understand now what I am trying to say here, if not, then forget what I said anything about this game, its not worth going on with this.
It is a button masher though, you pretty much press one button rapidly until now and then you make some counter (which is extremely automatic to do and very easy, even BEFORE they go into attack animation) and some dodges, but other than that, its the same button you press all the time.
.
Batman Arkham Asylum its as far as button masher a game could get
Button mash in AA = Not very good player
Timing and directing and countering and doing special moves and takedowns = A gamer playing like its suposed to be played.
IMo of course
HUNTED BY HEAVEN....HATED BY HELL....DRIVEN BY VENGEANCE!
Well my bad at saying it is button masher when the obvious thing all games with this genre is a button masher.
Oh, and FYI: I'm not defending the game because I love it; I'm defending it because I believe it's being unfairly criticised.
FYI - for your information ?

But I am learning though, took me a while to know what "LTTP" was :P (Late to the party) haha, ah well.
By the way, I think by now you guys know that there is gonna be a new FREE Batman DLC coming on 17 (or was it 18th?) for all platforms.
Yeah I did meet those with electric nightstick enemies, hard indeed, definitely needed a bigger wait until I meet various enemy times :)
Now, I didnt mention this before...but am I the only one who thought of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CoTG1nR84MU when meeting Scarecrow everytime?
Awesome way to bring back that nice old school 2D Batman memories from NES version for this one.
Sure easy to get pass his lights, but I dont mind it at all, feels and looks awesome.
