I did have 2 problems with it.

1. Pretty much everytime you knocked a enemy down they held their hands on their head even though your last hit wasent on the head.
2. The counter and attacks are way too easy. I mean even before the enemy starts to do his motion to attack, you can counter it...isn't that a bit silly?

I thought it was good, but not the way people are making it out to be. But, it seems to be the best BATMAN game yet, easy controls which is nice for normal players.

i really enjoyed it, but sadly my initial fears where proven...it's SO automatic, combat is too basic and the stealth just feels like a more forgiving QTE. i'll probabyl end up just renting it on the ps3. speaking of which, i was genuinely quite surprised the game looked as great as it did, seeing as it's a multiplat title. most of the time they look pretty crappy on the ps3 but this looks awesome.

Okay, I've tried the demo and all I can say is: day one purchase.

It's by no means perfect - the controls are little automatic in predator mode; controlling Batman is a bit clunky and the combat will take some getting used to - but the bulk of what I've played is incredibly impressive.

The automatic controls are probably the biggest concern, so I agree with you in that regard KORNdog, but this is fully cancelled out by the fact that you use tactics/strategy to take out your enemies. I don't think the game is going to prove to be easy because of the controls, as you still have to go about each mission in the right way.

Congrats Eidos and Rocksteady. You've made one heck of a game.

The biggest compliment I can pay the game is that it feels like you are controlling Batman himself. I mean, when you're using stealth in the game, you don't feel like you're avoiding the enemy; you feel like you're simply toying with them.

This has certainly gone to the Assassin's Creed school of "difficulty". It's mind numbingly easy, and the broad strokes with which you control batman don't really offer much faith in the combat ever becoming less automatic either. Camera is Gears style but not panhandle controlled, thus making no kind of sense, and I actually sometimes wish they would've gone with a first person perspective instead, considering that you're not even doing any precision controlled stuff, making the third person viewpoint little more than an excuse to see batman kick people in the face.

With those gripes out of the way, I think it's awesomely produced. I think the setup is great too, and it has that Bioshock quality to it where you wanna go deeper in to see.. where that takes you basically. Although Batman looks a bit like he had a particularly crazy party the other night involving buttplugs, I think the design of everything is deliciously crazy and sinister - it looks downright superb.

Admittedly I've never had any faith in this turning out a great game, considering Rocksteady's previous efforts, but I am more impressed by it than I expected to be. It all comes down to how the other gameplay elements complement what's in the demo, and how the difficulty level scales and the combat evolves. I can't shake the feeling that this is gonna be another Assassin's Creed though, where incredible attention to detail and massive efforts going into atmosphere and an amazing framework is let down by under-stimulating gameplay.

I wonder what cool methods you will be obliged to use in order to defeat your foes in the hardest mode (if that exists).Correct if Iam wrong but I read that you will have no buttons or helpful hints in your monitor.

and these are exactly my thought after playing the demo. Ubisoft keeps raving about Immersion and what not yet they made their game pretty much on Auto Play. They did the same to Prince of Persia. Batman is feeling exactly the same way. The thing is people ARENT going to feel that way now since they're only playing a short demo. Boredom will strike hard when you're playing the full game. This has gone from first day purchase to pretty much rental now.

I still disagree that PoP had that problem. I very much felt like what I did in it mattered. Sure there were never any dire consequences for messing up, but there was enough room to be good at it, and the platforming felt great.
