You would think Catwoman would be there instead according to the scans and all.

Should be interesting, I just hope this time it isnt focused on alot of CSI nonsense because it bored me.

the joker looks fucking weird, not good weird, just plain weird. i prefers his look in the first game tbh. still dont like batman's bowling ball shoulders. but this is a must buy. loved the first game.

that and the fact they've given him "hair" which looks a bit strange, in the first game it was solid geometry.

I think it's the supposed after effect of part 1's ending.
The messy, grey-isch hair, the veins/bruises, the bloodshot eyes.. It's all a result of using that venom injection.
Although I do agree that the screenshot you posted looks way better. Might be just a shitty screenshot though...

I'm playing through the first one again at the moment and it's still a first class AAA game in my view. I've enough faith that these guys will provide us an even better sequel...

Joker's chin is just offensive. While I reckon the sorta general overarching mix of grit and pastel colours is both interesting and visually appealing, I think the character art style when you scrutinize it is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. Somehow it works when you're playing the game. Batman looks great while you control him, but as soon as there's a cutscene highlighting what he actually looks like, though, it's like he's constipated and overweight, and somehow still fit into this suit that is two sizes smaller than he should be wearing, with a built in girdle that has rubber abs on it.

I especially love undressing him in my mind (ahem!) and picturing what he'd look like in a suit as Bruce Wayne based on the same character model. Then I laugh until I throw up.

The first game was absolutely awesome though, and I echo the sentiment that this might be even more rediculously awesome, making a purchase an absolute no-brainer. And to be fair, I do think Catwoman and Harley look a little better in this game.

I think the main issue is that their proportions and facial structure (sometimes body structure too) is veering towards the iconic, but they still have "realistic" detail, creating this really awkward inbetween that's just completely freaky.

i think that's a problem with most thing that move from 2D to 3D. unless they had some awesome comic-book shader i dont see how they could be completely tru to the comics (simple lines, bold colours). and even then it looks strange (the simpsons in 3D are complete freaks of nature) i think it generally looks fine in the game tho. at least facially. where it faulters is with batman himself. he's proportionally wrong and looks far too bulky to be doing the movements he's doing.

But they're not aiming for keeping true to anything. There's a distinctly AA specific style that's an amalgamation of loads of different incarnations of Batman, but it's not terribly evocative of any one single iteration.

They've hand picked what they want AA to look like, and I think they've done a pretty terrible job of balancing the bold cartoon roots with the gritty realism they needed it to have. They've done this:
